what’s your dream, darling?
no not the one that has you up late at night. or the one that seems too far to reach. not the one that keeps you on your daily hustle n grind. I’m talking about your daydream. the one that you ponder during long drives. that makes you consider that growing old will be exciting. the one that reminds you that the simple pleasures in life are quite possibly the grandest.
I dream of one day holding my own worn and battered Bible with century old notes written in the margins. I dream of Sunday morning pancakes with a family to call my own. I dream of a love that still brews over midday coffee even after 53 years of marriage. I dream of sitting fireside with my grandbabies sharing real-life stories that bring hope and wisdom all the days of their life.
I dream of never letting go of the simple things.
