"Phase 3: Thrones and Dominions" the second full-length studio album by Earth, released 1995 on Sub Pop #nemosfavoriterecords 🎧
Its a damn shame how little recognition this album gets in comparison to its predecessor, the monumental album Earth 2. While Earth 2 pretty much established drone doom as a subgenre and is still cited by many as the only worthwhile album Earth released, Phase 3: Thrones And Dominions is proof that Dylan Carlson is more than a one-trick pony (this would be proved again in 2005 when Earth returned with the fantastic Hex: Or Printing In The Infernal Method). Overall this album is a great combination of the unrelenting drone marathon of Earth 2 and the more conventional heavy fuzz rock sound of the disappointing Pentastar: In The Style Of Demons. People interested in Earth, and drone in general, should definitely check out this excellent album. (Recorded November 1993 at John and Stu's. Also recorded and mixed at Soundhouse 1994.)
Male Bonding - Endless Now: Their 2nd LP released in 2011 by Sub Pop Records. Such a great band! I'm bummed that the follow up to this record, 2016's "Headache" still hasn't been pressed to vinyl. Awesome fuzzy lo-fi indie/punk jams, if you're unfamiliar definitely check these guys out if you dig Cloud Nothings, Wavves, No Age, or Yuck.
Sunday School’s official twins of the week, Alex and Katy Perry. Come to Bottom of the Hill on Wednesday and see which twin shows up! Doors at 8pm, $10, presale can be bought from Bottom of the Hill’s website.
Bonus of attending the Vans Get On Board Workshop was getting to see Bully perform in a tiny space. Busy band! They flew in this morning from SXSW and are headed to Chicago for their HoV gig tomorrow. Shot for @weallwantsomeone.
This record is hard to take a photo of. This is one of my most anticipated records this year. The couple songs they tossed online before the release sounded amazing. Time to give this a spin. #hotsnakes#subpoprecords

@beaccchhoussse’s “Lemon Glow”
Beach House just recently announced their new album “7” which is due May 11th, 2018 on Sub Pop Records. The lead single “Lemon Glow” features the building tones, the dreamy vocals, and a somewhat exaggerated tremolo sound. The visual video for the track echoes the wavering effect used on the song. For a song released on Valentine’s Day, there is a level of intimacy that lead singer Victoria Legrand projects when you push past all the noise and layers of the song. If this is just a taste of what we are to expect from their next album, then we are ready to see Legrand and Alex Scally experiment with what is already familiar from the Baltimore based dream-pop duo.
