✨NEW BLOG POST✨ this week I spoke to Emily, a PhD student investigating epigenetics in plants, who also shares her experiences with a disability via her social media and blog.
I’ve been really excited to post this for a while now, and really enjoyed reading Emily’s answers. I especially think this is a super inspirational post/outlook for anyone currently struggling with their health (physical and mental). Thank you so much Emily for letting me chat to you! Don’t forget to go check out Emily’s instagram (she is tagged in this photo) and blog! 🔗 Link in bio!
Due to a series of unfortunate events I've felt stressed to the max. My sophomore year of college I was up at 1:30/2 am studying for an accounting exam (deja vu). My Granny text me. Why my 80+ year old Granny was up 💁💁💁? 😂 but she kept me company on late study nights. I told her I was "soooo stressed." and she responded with a text that was so powerful that I wrote it down on an index card and kept it posted on my desk/study area throughout the rest of college. I found that index card tonight. It was just what I needed to keep pushing. I wish everyone I know had the chance to know how much of a jewel my Granny, Dorothy M.O. Blade was.
Reading week has not been good for me, being home all there is to do is study and eat (and bake and bathe). I ate like 3 mini cheesecakes and they were delicious, it's a good thing the caf doesn't make them! This is today's and yesterday's food, and not surprisingly I didn't come close to my 10,000 steps either day (or any day this week Tbh) but that's okay. I get to attend a food safety workshop tomorrow which I'm excited about, it's a way of learning that also allows me to not study, so it's not the worst form of procrastinating, right?
Thanks so much to #HoWe alum Gabe at @cqhpub for sponsoring one of the stops on tonight’s #studybreak#scavengerhunt ... THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW! And I’ll be posting more pictures throughout the weekend. #CanaDees
Off to explore Thailand with some med school classmates! We’re all doing a research year between MS3 and 4 and randomly decided to abscond from our lab duties and go on a trip before restarting clinical rotations. #spoiledstudents
