The transition from athlete to everyday person is something that everyone who has played a sport struggles with. One moment we are part of an organized group with strong goals and sense of community and the next we are completely adrift. Having to go redefine our purpose on the fly. No easy task. With mindfulness we learn to slow down and take account of our thoughts and emotions, often giving insight into what drives us allowing us to see our objective truths. In turn giving us the tools necessary to redefine our purpose and utilize the skills acquired during our time on the field of competition.

Just received this picture from my son’s teacher! My Life has truly been blessed in the last year! I thank God for @deionsanders for blessing my family and for being a part of altering my son’s life. Trinity Christian changed his life! He looks forward to being great, pushes himself without me holding his hand because he wants to make his coaches proud of him and because he doesn’t want Coach Hart to pull up on him😂. The key to a good race, regardless of outcome, is to lose the fear to fail. A good race is the one where you give your everything, sometimes it may not be enough to win, in which case we simply learn that whatever we had was not enough and that we need to improve. Most of us are afraid to fail, because it teaches us that something bad may happen. #tbt fresher #bucsindoors champs. Since the trial period, with 6 weeks of heavy training leading up to this race, I wanted to do the best I could. Without prior experience I didn’t know how to pace myself, but I wasn’t afraid to fail. It ended up being an epic race with a PB by 30 seconds. Scoring 2nd place in South Coast in 2k champs motivated the hell out of me. Over the last several years I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to work with many student athletes. Their passion and drive to be the best at their sport is unmatched, which brings out the best of them in every training session....this is truly what makes coaching so fun and rewarding. To have the opportunity to work with each athlete to bring out the most of what they can do physically and mentally is truly priceless!
I’ve been lucky to train @trebabs_11 since 12 and he is now playing ball at the next level in college. His consistency has led to an amazing transformation not just physically and athletically, but most importantly in his mindset. Play at the highest level in all you do with three things. Pride.
