Have you tried swinging the mace or the gada? It's an amazing way to improve posture and strengthen the core muscles. Managed a little practice this morning before i get my shoulder surgery done tomorrow. It's definitely way better than it was the time before i got the opportunity to learn from Paul Wolkowinski. And having it done with as best technique as you can definitely beats not knowing what you are doing. Just like the time I started kettlebell training and grip training. Not until I learnt from the gurus who know the in-depth details. Btw, we are working on getting Paul to teach a full day Mace/Gada that will cover all the subtleties of using this ancient warrior tool. So watch out for this space for the date. Glad I am able to complete this 8-min workout or rather more like a little test. And here is the comparison between the 1st set (left) and final (8th & right)) set of 10+10 of 24kg snatches per min. The test was to have them look as similar possible. And to do this workout or rather more like an exam you got to earn it meaning you have to show up and do the training so that the body is physically prepared to take on the stress of the session. Imagine not being prepared not doing all the studying (or training) and taking your final year exam. Well don't expect to do well because there is no preparation. Unfortunately, most people approach every training tougher sessions like they are going for a school exam. Definitely had fun and all of them squatted way better than they did at the end of our Find Your Perfect Squat workshop yesterday. The most important thing is they went away with knowledge how they can squat better and towards excellence rather than perfect. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ➖➖➖➖➖ 👉One guy did 3 goblet squats with 60kg kettlebell and another did 2 goblet squats with 48kg kettlebell. 👉One lady did 1 goblet squats with 28kg and another did 3 goblet squats with 40kg. 👉The last lady came with sore low back and wasn't squatting quite anywhere near thighs parallel ended squatting below parallel and pain-free on her low back.
It's easy as a parent to fall into a trap and say "I am too busy." And missed a training session. Before you know, you have missed too many and it's another year gone. And I get it as a parent myself. I got up at 5am today got to work at @getresultsptgym then trained a few clients, taught the Squat workshop, got my kids to their swimming lessons in the afternoon and then did 3 hours of housework. It was a full on Sat for me. I could easily skipped this snatch session but i decided that my health is important to how I take care of my family. So took about 20 min off my housework and did the snatches. If I don't have health, I can't take care of my family. Going easy on the #kettlebellsnatches at 6+6/min today and form checking the snatches from the side. If you want to get better at any lift, you can't really go full throttle all the time. There are times you really need to take it easy and allow better practice and improve the techniques. And doing your own video analysis can be helpful if you know what you are looking for. And sometimes you may not be doing what you thought you are doing until you checked your form on the video. In this case, I could lock out better to the top. Obviously, I was a little slack on my last set. Btw, I am thinking about doing a snatch workshop either in Jan or Feb.
