225 for a double on squats!! I’ve wanted this number for a LONG time & I made it happen today 😁💪🏽 also got 125 for a double on bench, wasn’t a PR & I made it look super ugly so that was cool👍🏽 .
8 weeks out as of yesterday & coach said we start my peaking phase next week 😭😭 time to get my shit together & make it happen. #usapl#may12#barbellsontheboardwalk
⁉️⛔️It’s ironic that I have to make this post now. The first video features ❌ incorrect technique, and the second video (swipe right) features ✅ good technique. You should be able to see that my bar path in the first video is not perpendicular to the floor through the full range of motion. ‼️What you want is to have a straight bar path through out the entire movement. So in the second video you can see that I made the que to keep my chest upright and braced the whole time and this improved my bar path, keeping it over the mid foot the entire time.
Now with that out of the way, I can grow these 🌭’s to their full potential. 😈
💚🍀🌵Have a safe & Happy St. Patrick’s day everyone!
300lbs - 3 sets of 5.
Almost back at my previous best 5’s. Not that I can’t do it, but it’s been a while since I’ve done 5’s. So working my way back up and then I’ll be crushing my previous numbers for sure. #denovonutrition
Instead of my usual GVT for legs decided to go for a PR instead. Been doing GVT since Sept so I figured i’d see what kind of pure strength I had today even though i’m in a caloric deficit.
165lbs for 3x10.
My lower right back still gives me issues and feels like it’s going to tense up really bad if I try to go for something like a 1 rep max.
I could probably hit something over 200lbs for 1 rep if my back wasn’t messing with me.
I love drinking holidays like St Pattys Day because the gym is EMPTY. Just prancing and frolicking around to every machine I need! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Um so this is 270lbs and this is also my last meet’s deadlift PR 🤯And I had more in the tank too 😈 thanks for the spot cousin @dan_gutwein and these video skillz are crazy!?!? But I AM SO PUMPED ABOUT THIS guys 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
#stronglifts5x5 week 17 day 2= #squat 365 lbs #5x5#pr#lifetimepr 💪💪💪💪💪(first set shown). Felt heavy as 💩. It felt like a 1000 pounds... it felt really fuckin heavy. My last rep of my last set was so grueling. It took everything in me to get it up. I felt a little lightheaded after too. It really felt like my max. If I had to do one more rep I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it. Which is why I’m gonna stay at this weight on day 3. I know im not ready for 370 yet. I need my two days rest to recover before I try that next week. I gotta think ahead so I don’t stop making these gainzz 💪💪. #roadto405#roadto4plates soon! #bench 210 lbs 5x5. I barely made it on my bench too. What’s going on with my upper body? I’ve done 215 lbs 5x5 before, why am I struggling with deloaded weight?.. it’s probably my squats draining all my energy for my other lifts. I don’t really care tho cause the squat isn’t just for yours legs. It also builds your back and your core and your lats. I’m just gonna stay consistent, deload when I need, and hope and pray that I make some upper body gains again soon. / #pendlayrows 185 lbs 5x5. I switched my bent over rows out for the #pendlayrow cause that’s what the guy who made stronglifts 5x5 recommends. It actually felt a lot better. It felt really good. I lowered the weight a little bit because I’ve never done these before and I wanted to practice proper form. I can’t wait to get my numbers up on this new lift. I’m about to make all kinds of back gains.... all kiiiinds. #hodgetwins#linearprogression#newbiegains#squatpr#skwaats#fitness#fitlifestyle#fitlife#fitnessmotivation#powerlifting#benchpress#flatbench#lafitness#fuckhexplates
After not posting in ages I’ve decided to upload my new ssb squat PR (155kg). SSB is harder as it loads your core more and is generally considered about 15-20kg less than your conventional straight bar squat max. I’m happy to say the least and my switch to only squatting once a week at very high intensity (85%+) is paying off! #ssbsquats#powerlifting#homegym#burrington#squatpr#stronglifts#4x3#progression

250lbs...this was my goal to hit by the end of the year. 20lbs up from my last max out, 10lbs up from my lifetime PR (which was almost a year ago and I peed myself doing it). .
It takes me FOREVER to get comfortable under the bar and I’m still working on ergonomically correct wrist placement, but I see big things in my squat future 🤩😍 #squatPR#gruntgamestrong#spittinandgruntin#whateverittakes#imhereforit
Squat max day....... no video-log because the doubt in me was through the roof. I had zero faith that 300lbs would be a successful, legal squat. You know what? Anything is possible. Anything. Self-doubt, in all aspects of life, renders failure. You will never know unless you step outside that comfort zone and go big. Very big. #confidenceboost#lowbarsquat#stepuptothebar#dreambig#squatpr BW:157
When you Front squat twice your bodyweight for 8 reps 👀⚡️⚡️⚡️. He’s accepting clients if you want to learn how to be as strong as Limitless Trainer @bryanqktran #Repost @bryanqktran with @get_repost
325 for 8 after hitting a set of 3. Both sets were PRs ⚡⚡⚡ s/o to the Limitless crew for crushing all the lifts yesterday @storm.ricciotti @harman350 @limitlesstraining @adameldika #weightlifting#needshortershortstho
FINALLYYYYY...Told myself there was no other option but to just get it done 😭 so happy right now! (I think for me it’s knowing I don’t have a spotter that makes this easier 🤷🏼♀️...like DON’t DIE) 225x2 I just wanted 1rep but it felt good and I wanted to get deeper so i didn’t even think about it and I went for a second rep. No belt, no sleeves, and fasted.
Well I most definitely did not hit a PR today😅😅
I hit this weight (185lbs) about 8 months ago before I got stuck in a plateau and then lost strength and I haven’t been able to hit it since. I hit 180lbs for one good squat right before this and it went up easy but those 5lbs more didn’t want to go up😂
I was sooooo close though😓
Oh well it’ll go up soon!💪🏻🙏
Also I had a killer leg workout so it’s all down below if you wanna try it!!!⬇️
🔸Squats- do sets of 2 until you reach your max then do 3 sets of 1 reps; 4 sets working your way down in weight (3-6reps per set)
➖BB RDLs Heavy: 12,10,10,10
➖Plate Overhead Walking Lunges: 20 per set(10 per leg)
➖Elevated Plate “Pull-throughs”: 15 reps, these are somewhat like a squat with a plate held between your legs but you move in a more up and out direction as a cable pull through would
➖Weighted Jump Squats(plate held in hands): 10-12 reps
🔸Drop Hamstring Curls:4 sets, 10-12 reps, do these with only bodyweight on the lat pulldown machine
🔸TRX Pistol Squats: 4 sets, 10-12 reps per leg
🔹And stretch those leggos out!!!!!!
Be sure to tag me if you try this workout!!!😁
🔥NEW PR🔥: 415 x 2 .
Because who needs knees, right? Wasn’t planning to hit a PR today, but squats were feeling great! High volume squat before this consisted of: .
▶️ 315 x 10
▶️ 365 x 7
▶️ 385 x 5
385lb squat pr today. Much slower than I would like, but it looks like my core work has been paying off at least. I think from that huge sticking point it's definitely time to do a lot more hamstring work. I keep looking up too which is driving me crazy.
Also, this was probably pretty dumb of me, I ended up doing the rest of my workout(and then some) and then coming back to try hitting 385 with better speed. I failed that one though. The 2x275 and 365 squats were actually warm ups to the second attempt. I always get really worked up and anxious before testing my maxes. To be honest I'm actually a lot more proud of the speed I'm feeling with 275 and the comfort I have with 365. What's funny is that in my head I feel like the threshold between being weak and strong is between my old max and my new max which means missing it would feel like going backwards. But really I'm just like 10 weeks past when 365 was a threshold between when my max was 360 and 370. When 315 was my max, 365 would have seemed outrageous. I think a healthier way I'm going to look at it now is that 365 is basically my max - or at least what I'll call a comfortable max. It's heavy enough where I'm going to grind a little for sure, but mentally I just know it'll happen. In short, I'm taking my own maxes with grains of salt now. I feel better thinking of numbers that don't have to have a bunch of variables perfect and stars aligned to hit. Leading up to testing my max I try to have everything perfect and usually that's just impossible. Almost everything needs to be right for me to hit 385, but I could have a bad day and get 365. So the whole benefit is only mental, but I'll take it.
Quick little video of my new squat PR today, definitely could have been deeper squats but I was happy to not drop the weight off my back lol. Recording yourself helps soo much to notice form mistakes that you don't always see from the mirror in front of you!
OHS up to 91kg/200#! Pretty sure it’s been almost a year since I’ve gone heavy on these. Even though they were a little less steady that i would have liked, I’ll be happy with a 10# PR. @321ollie @masheliteperformance @2poodperformance
Smooth 5kg Squat PR.
I have hit some new numbers this week. I feel like I need a break so I'll skip the mock meet week and will take it easy for the next few weeks. Vacation is coming up anyway!
Forever grateful for @theboxportsmouth letting me train at their gym!
Thanks to @juggernautcoaching for bullet proof programming and the coaching crew for teaching me loads about technique, scientific principles of training and how to apply it to programming!
Not one to usually brag about lifting however I am closing this training cycle with a 15kg added to my total. That's 26kg added with #jtscoaching in the past six months.
Progress is progress.
Pretty happy with that.
315# low bar squat flying up this morning 💃🏼 This was actually my second attempt at 315 after missing it about 5 minutes before this. I got outside of my own head and gave myself no other option than to get it up so I didn’t have to ditch it. So proud of myself for sticking with it - even without my cute spotter 😉 I wanted to try for 320-325 but decided to do that on a day I have my spotter with me 🏋🏼♀️
I usually don’t do low bar, I feel more comfortable in a high bar squat but now that I’ve been practicing - I am starting to like low bar even better because m I feel much more explosive & stronger in it. Which makes sense if you look at my body - I am very developed & muscular in my posterior chain - I mean I do have nice sized quads but my glutes and hammies are much stronger. Low bar squats put more of the load on your glutes/hamstrings where as high bar puts the load more on your quads! Cheers to getting stronger 💃🏼🎉
