22 veterans a day commit suicide. A veteran/Spartan racer that I follow has been doing the 22 push up challenge to raise awareness of the depression/suicide that so many of our veterans face....he has injured his knee and had to have surgery..so, I'm taking over for him ..... We have torn our hands. We have cramped up. We have gone out of breath and dizzy and frustrated! But we are here now, and all we have left is to enjoy this experience together!.

Damn, i ain't physically 100% tom. My right shoulder is not yet fully recovered from my injury last January from obstacle training. Hanging obstacles will be burden to me. But, it doesn't mean i will not push through for my first ever spartan race. If it will be 200 and above burpees. Then it will be 200 or above. No freakin way i aint racing tom. I will be taking down notes for my next spartan races. My new weekly challenge for my Spartan team- 31 Hand Clap Burpees every day til next Wednesday when i issue the new challenge. I gave them plenty of reasons to love burpees: New Spartan Challenge: 2/22-2/28.
31 Hand -Clap Burpees for time!! See how fast you can get the first 15 done and try not to drop the tempo much for second half. Post your time. You will get faster if u push. (On the jump back up you clap your hands over head) SEE BELOW:
The benefits of Burpees- its a high load exercise using the entire body, its strength plus plyometrics which strengthen legs and core and build stamina.
Rapid repetitions such as our challenge, will build muscular endurance.
Short bursts of high intensity activity forces the body to use phosphates and glycolysis instead of oxygen for fuel ; Anaerobic exercise.
Fat loss bcause the high intensity of performing Burpees and the number of muscles needed to perform this exercise result in a large caloric expenditure.

My #Relationship#status with the big three are:
1. #deadlifts - Strong and healthy becoming an obsession and getting stronger each day
2. #bench - Reliable long term steady not really going anywhere too fast
3. #Squats - #Love#Hate very unstable painful abusive but still coming back for the #booty
These are the last set of my squats this week. 90kg for reps this is a new PB for me but they look bad and I struggled. Knees need to be controlled and I need to raise with the bar not before it. But I will get better :) At least I went for deapth right? Damn these little legs.
This hand held body fat machine works by sending electricity through your body. The fat and muscle in your body resist that electrical current differently. This machine takes the information you put in and the ratio of resistance from your fat and muscles and is able to calculate (give or take a couple percent) your body fat %. So if you think squeezing harder will bring down your body fat percent... it won't lol.
People ask me all the time how I stay motivated. They tell me they could never do what I do. I call bullshit. Is it hard to workout every single day? Yes. Is it hard to train my mind to be resilient to the negativity and haters? Yes. Does it take effort to eat healthy over choosing what is quick and easy? Yes.
Know what else is hard? Being overweight and aching all the time. Never wanting my picture taken because I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. Being green with envy as I watched others do things I always wanted to do but never had the courage to try.
You are not meant to live your life feeling tired and dragged down all the time. You deserve to feel strong and healthy and confident and not be held back by fear or what others might say. The choice is yours. And I’m here to help when you’re ready to make a change. .
I’m not training to be skinny, I’m training to be a badass.
