I’m backkkkkkkkk! 
It has been a tough week & a half & I have been struggling with motivation on this account. I haven’t really been seeing the point in posting when there are so many bad things happening back home. My heart is so heavy & the healing process has been difficult, but seeing the kids in my community fight back is so incredibly inspiring. Seeing my community come together and support one another & the victims’ families is beautiful. I am so proud to be a Douglas alum. ❤️ On a lighter note, it was shoulder daaaaay 😎 the gym had the Lion King on the TV so you could say it was a great workout (although the first scene we saw was when Mufasa dies & I’m still not OVER IT) anyways here’s the workout lol:
▫️Muscle Activation: Commandos (10), Shoulder Taps (10)
▫️DB Complex: Single Arm Upright Row to Shoulder Press (10 each)
▫️DB Stock Press (10 each)
▫️DB Bent Over Single Arm Rear Delt Raise (10 each)
▫️Burn Out: Lateral Raises (until failure)

Also threw in some cardio via sprints (🙂)! Song: Crown by Camila Cabello & Grey

It was such a beautiful day, I re-started my half-marathon training today! I have not ran more than 4 Miles in two years! I honestly felt like I could have ran another mile or mile and a half, but I wanted to be safe on the body. When I run, I would always think of the time, not the distance. But today, I took my time and focused on my breathing. Till tomorrow!

Was just a little bit red after i beat my plank time. Off 3.16 to 3.38seconds. Shaking like leaf. 
Ab day today. Can still feel the burn 3 hours later. And my arms hurt off arms yesterday and legs and booty off the day before. I am officially SORE... Need a massage aaahh...I was thinking of buying one of them handheld massage machines anyone got any? Or any recommendations..

I found #science. When I was working out I was ripping my muscles apart and was using what's called glycogen (stored in muscles and liver). This glycogen was being used during my workout, I need to refuel that RIGHT AFTER and I wasn't for hours later. My body was remaining in a catabolic state instead of a anabolic state where it allows me to build muscle 💪🏼

A similar thing occurs when you don't eat after a long period of time. It's just draining, I felt fatigued, with no energy. It honestly just didn't feel good.

I started to understand, after learning about gluconeogenesis, the kreb's cycle and about ten other cycles that your body goes through, how important it is to FUEL YOUR TANK!

Even amidst chaos, successful people do what they must do whether they feel like it or not. As I wait for the renovations to be complete so that I can initiate clean up, I made sure to take an hour to get my train on. Speed deadlifts, speed squats, lunges, GHR, wide stance sit ups and ball slams all got the beat down today.

The facility is in shambles right now. I must get up at 1:30 AM tomorrow to get here before the clients begin coming in to train. I will be vacuuming, scrubbing, wiping, mopping and all kinds of other exciting cleaning activities to make it look like no renovation ever occurred this weekend – excluding of course the brand-new floors that make the gym look amazing!

I could very easily find a way to talk myself out of this one but instead I decided to find 5 reasons to talk myself into it because negative self talk is a waste of precious time.

I want to wake up at 1:30 AM tomorrow for 5 reasons:
.
1. I am fortunate enough to own my own business that changes the lives of individuals on a regular basis. Because of this I look forward to the hard work required to not only maintain but further develop this premier facility.
2. Nothing smells better than ambition on a Monday morning. I’ve got a big appetite and I’m hungry for achievement. If that means I must wake up a little early…BRING IT ON.
3. If the worst thing I must deal with tomorrow is a little bit of fatigue and a long day, that is a damn good day. I am grateful for the individuals in this world that have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice their lives to allow individuals just like you and I to live an extremely comfortable life.
4. I realize that to make a large impact in the long term quite often I will be required to do things that make me uncomfortable. Waking up at 1:30 AM is uncomfortable.
5. I know my competition is snoring away. By the time they crawl out of bed, I’ll be eating lunch.
