“We must take care of our families wherever we find them.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
Families can be strong units of love, devotion, friendship and support. No matter if you have family that shares blood, or a family you have chosen for yourself, do what you can to take care of them; they are the only family you’ve got.
I have a sweet niece trying to have children for over a decade. Her & her husband have been fostering with hopes to adopt. They had twin boys since birth, loving them as their own, when family members stepped in and won taking them back. She was devastated! In the midst of mourning the loss of that particular hope, twins girls arrived into their home months ago. I had thoughts she’d ‘hold back’ the love, the excitement and hope from the fresh hurt just experienced. Not so! She’s put forth every bit the mothering she had deep in her heart for these baby girls. It wasn’t because the hurt wasn’t there, or remembered, it was because SHE felt those baby girls deserved 100% of her love, time and capability. She rose above the disappointment and let her ‘light so shine that all may see pure love”...this aunty is very proud of her.
2 hours ago it was +1 and although cold and windy it was sunny. My daughter and her buddy went into the hot tub. Just know I pointed out that snow is falling again
..She started to cry and said..."when is the snow going to end. I hate it!"
She's 7. Lol. But her sentiments are shared in the adult community here :-)
