“Modern paintings are like women, you will never enjoy them if you try to understand them” ~ freddie mercury
Treasure 16x20 is a new modern acrylic study...as I continue to get out of my comfort zone and learn a new ‘language’ :) I have an open studio here in Santa Fe, NM where I work daily, painting often in watercolor and acrylic as well, framing and a lot of thinking. It’s set up as a gallery as well, showcasing over 70 pieces hanging of my artwork and that of my son Rowdy’s photography. Drop by, visit and let your friends know, if you are visiting the #landofenchantment
Happy Monday! I was out walking the dog when I saw the sunlight finally breaking through the clouds yesterday, late afternoon. I was mesmerized by the light quickly moving south along the Organ Mountains and realized I better go grab the camera. After focusing so hard on the light, I had overlooked beauty of the sky. Gotta love the softness of the sky against the rough&tough Organ Mountains. Thanks for looking and enjoy👍⛰🇺🇸

Last set of pictures from Geronimo’s Cave. My DSLR took a bit of a fall during this trip and I had to use my iPhone, which did a decent job as a backup. The DSLR is back up and running! Thanks for looking and as always, enjoy👍🇺🇸
Found Geronimo’s Cave yesterday! The story is that Geronimo escaped into this cave while running from the U.S. Calvary and while they waited for him to come out, he never did and apparently found another way out. Southern New Mexico, it’s a cool place so get up and go explore! Many more photos coming from this fun trek. Enjoy👍🌵🇺🇸 _________________________________________________

Sunrise colors this morning. I am glad the dogs got me up to see this. The top one is looking north and east from our yard and the bottom is looking west. It is wonderful to have clouds back in our skies.
Great view of the Organ Mountains as seen from atop the Robledo Mountains. With unusually cloudy & rainy weather the past few days, it made for great hiking and photos yesterday. Thanks for looking and Enjoy👍🇺🇸 Prints available @ www.dldecor4u.com
Steps in Sand...while at White Sands in New Mexico.
I have at different times heard and read the faith base story of walking with the Lord...steps in sand.
It echos in my heart and it was there in my mind when I took this photograph, as I look back upon the storm building on the horizon with the steps I took while alone in the sand. I realized it symbolized my journey and the journey that we each take daily....I’m busy, distracted and to often I forget, thinking that I am alone, but I’m not...and this photograph, this moment reminds me of that:) This photograph from White Sands, NM that I captured...Steps In Sand, made me recall this very wonderful story that I have thought to share now on instagram:) ~As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
Such beauty in this lone cactus and boulder out in the Dona Ana Mountains. Second image got a little sun action. Happy Friday and thanks for looking👍🇺🇸
Happy Monday! Took the Jeep out and about to explore the Dona Ana Mountains. Always nice when the shot comes out exactly as you had imagined, especially when you put in the effort to climb up the hillside. Enjoy👍⛰🇺🇸
