Oh, hello there! I’m just over here swinging into the weekend. Happy Friday, friends!
Hoping the weather this weekend will be as warm and sunny as it has been all week. Spring has arrived in the South!☀️🌊😎 #swingingintotheweekend#northshore#hawaiianvacation
Challenge yourself creatively and win a Sony a6500!
I am the current host of the @Sony #pushingthelens challenge, and I wanted to share a thought with you for your entry!
One idea is to focus on a location, like where you grew up or a place you visited as a child.
Maybe a place you have lived before, or where you live now.
In my life I have moved around a lot, so home is many places for me.
It’s an emotional connection I have with a place or even a person where I feel wanted.
Or a place I felt comfortable to be me.
You can also build on this layer, by adding someone or something that is typical of that place.
Or just focus on a sense of place with your entry, which I also recommend.
I took this photo with my @sonyrxmoments Rx100V, in
I grew up in Jamaica, so I consider it just as much home as where I live now. (Brooklyn, New York)
Soccer or Football is heavily integrated into Jamaican culture.
It was my first passion to be a pro player.
Eventually, I started making videos in my backyard with a webcam, to share them on YouTube in 2011.
I owe so much to this game and the land that I learned it in.
That land is Jamaica.
Also remember to create a new post to be considered. Tag @sonyalpha and @Sony in your posts here on Instagram and on Twitter. Adding the tags to an old post does not count.
In preparation for the cold snap that’s coming our way (hugs a mug of tea) I’ve been looking at old summer photos. Look how lush Hebden Bridge is here! Spring will soon be here chums, we can do this! P.S Happy weekend lovely people. Mine will be spent with loved ones; walking, reading and book shelf organising (new shelves arrive tomorrow!). Have a happy one 😊
This is a love story.
It wasn’t seamless but it is starry eyes and love 🔥 at first light and sight! There was a discovery, unexpected that love can happen in its most real and romantic state, found in chance meetings. There were also moments of unplanned intimacy that is the only true kind of intimacy in a love story, soft touches and laughter and absurdity, because you need absurdity in a love story, since love is slightly absurd anyway, a feeling that, like eternity, is indefinable. #angelbites
Perhaps swimming was dancing under the water and both denotes freedom of mind and body. To swim or dance under the stars, the moon, the sun and think about reasons having to do with the abstraction of the future or the simplification of nothing at all. #lazyhazydays
Marriages are impossible to predict. Fairy tales become broken tales, love stories turn into stories of love lost, initial euphoria into a wish for marital euthanasia. The trouble with love is that it comes with the guarantee of nothing. The nature of it is risk, happiness and hurt in the same muscle of the heart. The marriage? How can it not thrive when the first date was ten hours long drives with no particular destination—where no matter how crowded the streets winding through the city, there was no one else except the two of you. This is our love story forever #platinum
Cobalt, cerulean, azure, ultramarine so basically when viewed from any vantage point the Ocean is so much more than just blue. From our perch, we could see a smattering of small islands, a fleet of local pirogues, and a mosaic of corals. Kite surfers glided over the sea in a nearby bay, and sea birds banked in the wind. I thought as I looked around and marveled at the mountains, that this is so much more than just a beach destination. ❤️ him forever #mosiachops
I won't remember the copious quantities of grub, the business class lounge, the limo drive, the piquant ginormous honeymoon cake, the Polaroid capturing the unwinding moment of us two, but I will remember the moments where Mr A was happy with his new experience and slept peacefully up in the air - that's eternal. Hugs to Bella Notte ❤️ #emiratesbusinessclass#shakeitlikeapolaroidpicture#ashsfirsttimeinbusinessclass
Not gobblefunking around with unutterable words or hunting around for a thesaurus for the pretext of superfluous words, in my latest article. Be silent sometimes or let thy words be worth more than silence. Also perks of the day a surprise special delivery of the pink flowers, you see scattered around the pages...
Unexpected discoveries at this wetland reserve renowned for enclaving relative wilderness amidst swirling traffic and sprawling urban infrastructure . So as the slow water sucked at the shore and then withdrew, leaving the strip of seaweed bare and churned, the cool plastic avian of greater flamingoes stood still upon the mown lagoon. Then that same impulse to flight seized upon them too. Crying or whistling they skimmed the placid sea and left the shore. Make haste and begone; yet where, and to what purpose? The restless urge of autumn, unsatisfying, had put a spell upon them and they must flock; they must spill themselves of motion before winter came. Writing about unexpected discoveries for my next article and the efforts to protect and preserve biodiversity of our delicate ecosystem. #urbanrising
Reminiscing about the best kind of #brunch that have the lingering fragrance of rose infused tea, nibbly blueberry maple syrup pancakes, melty slow simmered haddock omelette #ArnoldBennett and a lemon doused fish and blob of truffle chips.
On a nonstop week, nothing like a nibbly hunk of hirata bun cornucopia to bury your face into. Thick patches of fabulously fragrant kewpie paste smeared over the delicious filling inside. My version is however a deep fried veggie and shrimp parcel inside the buns.
I am proud to be a #pescatarian from 2006 and counting. I eat fish, eggs and veggies but have never craved or eaten meat since then. Now gaze upon this herb encrusted sea bass fillet embedded with a divine vegetable infusion, and tell me would you consider gobbling this up and changing your food lifestyle forever? And ps no animals were injured during this segment...
