I tried Blue Label many years ago when I first started my whisky journey so probably didn’t really appreciate it at that point, like most of the other whiskies I tried at that time. I was considering purchasing either a 70cl or 20cl to revisit it again and found this in my collection. When you come across a bottle you forgot you had, that’s probably a sign you keep too much whisky(or that my memory is beginning to fail! Haha)😧
Have you ever found a bottle you had forgotten about?
Cheers and enjoy the start of your week!🥃😁🥃
#Repost @plhoweh , Check it out if you’re into fine whiskies!
I’m a big fan of whisky, that’s kind of obvious, but I’m also a major fan of beef jerky! I though, why not try and mix them both.. what would be the best pairing 🤔 The guys at @derfjerky had exactly what I needed! Smoked rasberry jerky, paired with @kilchomansinglemalt Sanaig from #islay It’s a beautiful match! The Sanaig, with it’s sweet vanilla, maritime peat smoke, saltiness and fruitiness from the sherry cask matches perfectly the sweet and smoky flavors of that jerky. Usually, whisky and spicy food are a though match, but this jerky only has a sweet touch of chipotle tingleling your palate and preparing it for the seabreeze that is thos whisky! Check them out! @derfjerky uses quality meat that delivers amazing flavors!
Last week's tasting @pigandbutcher with @awayfromtheordinary seemed to go down rather well. A few more bonus photographs here and the memory of pouring quite a few drams.
The Aberlour 26yo was a cheeky bonus dram.
Good fun and a doubleheader on the cards for May in London.
#macallanmonday • Being as you’ve probably been seeing these beauties all over the gram lately, we’d figure why not share a shot of a bottle we had last week • From last weeks #scotchandtimeseries @macallannicolas brought a bottle of cask 04 which if we may say, was one of the absolute highlights of the night • Now normally hyping a product is somewhat against what we like to do, but man, when hype is do, it’s just do • Cask 04 which was among one of the youngest and most affordable available, is an absolute gem • Usually we’d like to load up on a bottle like this before sharing it with the world, but unfortunately these are basically sold out world wide and the chances of scoring one will be at already sky rocket secondary prices • Regardless, if you’ve already tried any of the casks that were released, we’d assume you could agree that these will go down as some of the more sought after releases in recent times for Macallan •
It’s a very interesting blended malt from Diageo. It combines spirits from all 28 scotland distilleries by Diageo.
Very balanced notes of fresh fruits, flowers, dried fruits, old leather, a little bit perfume on nose, peat smoke appears after 20 minutes in glass.
Furniture polish, spices, dried fruits, leather and oak notes on taste.
Long finish starts with spices, and goes with oak, vanilla, pepper, dried fruits notes.
I like this blended malt very much!
