"I advocate. What's your superpower?" School Psychologists are an integral part of school based mental health teams. We are uniquely trained to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of the children we serve. Unfortunately, there are not enough of us to go around. Caseloads are high and we are often tasked with numerous other duties in our schools. With continued advocacy, I hope that we can alleviate the shortage of School Psychs so that we can focus on what matters the most! #nasp2018#schoolpsychlife#advocacy#lovewhatido
So concludes NASP 2018. As always, the most meaningful professional development experience there is for my profession. But beyond the learning, the camaraderie and friendships are what re-fuel the resources to get through the year.
Literally enjoying the sunset on NASP 2018 and Chicago from the 95th floor with two amazing friends with and Old Fashion Mad Men style.
Although I caught a nasty flu-like, sinus, yucky something, this week in Chicago attending the NASP Annual Convention has been fulfilling! I presented in my first symposium, helped co-facilitate a practitioners workshop, networked with so many brilliant scholars, and was empowered with both knowledge and reignited passion for this field of work! Wow! Not to mention, I had the chance to connect with old and new friends and colleagues. 💜 Now, back home to my kitty and Philly fam! #chitown#nasp2018#schoolpsychlife
