BALANCE & WAITING FOR THE BALL🏏
This drill with the tennis balls is to help you wait for the ball and hit it as late as possible as well as holding help you to hold your balance and own the shot. Because the tennis balls bounce slower off the pitch you have to be able to hold your balance to perform the shot. A really good drill to make sure everything is moving correctly.
5 EXERCISES YOU CAN DO ANYWHERE, ANYTIME TO BE A BETTER CRICKETER💪
Following a cricket specific strength and conditioning program can really take your cricket to the next level. If you are a cricketer under 17 years old you should be doing our beginner program (5 of the exercises from this clip) to get the advantage of your competitors. Just like skills for cricket the basics are the key with a strength and conditioning program. Don’t let your ego hold you back from doing the basics over and over again. Want more information on our programs send us a DM.
LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES👌 Making mistakes is not a bad thing, in fact it’s a good thing. When you make a mistake the game teaches you a lesson. You are able to learn that lesson and improve as a cricketer. So the more mistakes you make the better you get. There is no reason to play it safe because you won’t learn. The only mistake you don’t won’t to make is the mistake you have already made. As coaches and mentors we have to create a space to allow mistakes and to help guide the cricketer to learn the lesson. If we are able to guide them to the lesson rather than tell them the lesson they are more likely not to make the same mistake again. 👊🏏
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH LEGENDS👊
Tag your training buddies💥
You want to surround yourself with as many people as you can that want to be successful and want to help others be successful. This may mean finding a training buddy, joining a team who fit that description, joining an online community of cricketers like the one we are creating or getting a mentor. The list goes on. In this video we have a group of cricketers enjoying their and working on their game. The social aspect alone has enormous benefits. Got any questions, leave it on the comment section of our YouTube channel. 🏏
FAST BOWLING 💥
Are fast bowlers the match winners? What types of fast bowler are you? What are things you do well? What are things you don’t do well? Are you side on, front on or have a mixed action? Do you have a braced front leg? Do you have a chest drive? Or a hip? So many questions you can answer to work out what type of bowler you are. This awareness can help you play better. This awareness will also help you train better to make improvements rather than wasting time at training sessions.
ALWAYS ASSESS 🏏
As a cricketer, you have to assess the situation. There are many variables in cricket. The weather, pitch, ball, bowler, batsman, outfield, fielders and list can go on and on.
This means you always have to be assessing what is happening and forming game plans around what you have assessed. Some times you are right and some times you are wrong, it’s an opportunity to learn and gain experience for when you are faced with those conditions again. We have so much success with cricketers who have coaching calls with us because they don’t realise how much of cricket is mental. During our coaching calls we can help cricketers with the situations they are facing most often. It’s extremely important to align your game plan with the right conditions to be successful. Sometimes the technique you are trying to perfect won’t allow you to scores with the conditions you face. If you want a coaching call please send us a DM 🏏
Warning. Vulgar Language. Ok now that this has hit mainstream media let's here the views on the Imran Tahir Incident. Initially the reports were he slapped a kid which was deemed untrue by the CSA report. It's now evident he was racially abused by some Fans and then went to confront them with Security personnel. So I ask do Fans go to Far and Should Players be protected. Should unruly Fans be dealt with or thrown out. Did Imy react in the right way?
Lets here what you guys have to say
Full video can be seen on
How you hands grip the bat can mean so much to how you bat. And can give bowlers and idea of the batsman’s strengths and weakness.
There are successful batters who hold the bat all sorts of different ways.
Key is to know how you hold the bat and what that means to your batting.
Very interesting to watch how your hands can change throughout the swing and through different shots 👊

CRITICISM AND SELF-BELIEF💥
A quote from Peter Handscomb after Ricky Ponting criticised his batting technique. “It’s not easy hearing such high-profile players, especially guys who have done really well in their own right , tear your technique to threads."
"But that’s part of professional cricket and a lot of it is self-belief.
"I’ve been making runs with this technique now for three or four years and making quite a few runs.” - Peter Handscomb.
You have to be able to handle criticism even from players you look up to, know what to take on board and what to respectfully let go. That comes from self awareness, awareness of your own game and huge amounts of self belief. Peter Handscomb has just posted a century for Victoria to lead his team to victory in the Sheffield Shield. Self awareness and self belief are so important to you being a successful cricketer and that’s the reason we teach it so much. Want more information - check out our YouTube channel. 👊

AT HOME DRILL🏏
@yabbadabbadooo23 has scored over 750 runs this season at an average of 45 in NSW Premier Cricket (said to be the best club cricket in the world) He said this drill has helped him play a lot straighter this season. Simply put a cricket ball in a stocking and attach it to some sort of bar over head. Aaron has worked with Mentor @simonkeen1 on his game over the years and we are so happy to see him having a fantastic year which he has always been capable of. 🏏
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY 🏏
Great quote from David Warner about giving responsibility to his bowlers for their fields. Great captaincy and every bowler should know exactly where they need their fields for them to get results they want. We talk about it in our 5 day challenge and we go teach it in our Peak Performance Program. Self awareness is the key, understand your strengths and weaknesses and then plan, play and train accordingly.
You should empower yourself as a cricketer by taking control of every aspect of your game. Your training, your performances, your fitness, your mindset, every part of your game should be your responsibility. If you take full control you give yourself every chance to be the best player you can be. At CM we give you all the tools for you to empower yourself and take your game to the top. 🏏 DM us for details on how you can be your best 👊
