⬅️➡️ It’s #postcardthrowbackthursday ! 🍾🥂🎉 (I need a better hashtag for this) I realized that postcards were like the original Instagram; you have a photo / picture that you send to people you know basically saying “look at this cool place that I went to!” And you have a small area to write on the back of the postcard (kind of like a caption that you can write for Instagram) 🤯🤯🤯 This installment of Postcard #tbt showcases #mtsanantonio “Old Baldy” from Mt Wilson (with the postcard from the early 1900’s). The third photo is also of Baldy from Wilson (although with a much wider lens) from when I went hiking there a few weeks ago.
The world needs your light. Go to the places that fill you up and let your heart fill up with light. Shine bright, friends. We need more light and love in this world.
Like these two beauties, who have filled my life with light for so many years💕 @lynn.swift @kathy.camp
Keep on shining, friends! You never know who else you might set on fire with that sweet light of yours. 😉💕🔥 #choosestoke#shineon#shine#letsplay

Generously put: the last few months I have been a hot mess. But tomorrow I get to race 53 (slightly undertrained) miles through the New Zealand alps. Life doesn’t suck... unless I have to DNF and get airlifted out by a helicopter...
Race starts at 10 am denver time tomorrow but no live tracking.
I had hoped to have a better (faster) day at the Black Canyon 100k but as I look back at this picture I am reminded how lucky I am to be able to go spend a full day running in the desert mountains #bct100k#runsteepgethigh 📷 @lexiepike
Perfect practice makes perfect. - Chris Macca McCormack. Perfect practice isn't always exciting or fun, but it's small things like these that make all the difference down the road! One of my main focuses is to always make sure I'm moving the way I'm supposed to be before getting deep into training. Today was all about learning to maintain control in deep ranges of motion. Thank you Dr. Brink and @aleksandrasson for today's lesson! #MovementIsMedicine

Just go- go do the things you love.
Travel to the places you wish to breathe the air.
Stop waiting for life to hold your hand.
Stop waiting till you have your shit together.
Having your shit together is a myth- even when we are standing still, the earth is moving.
It’s impossible to keep up with ourselves.

The only word worth saying is go. -Janne Robinson
I find frequently that other people’s well-crafted words encapsulate my life better than any I currently possess (how could I not share hers) ✌️
I’ve had the olympics on in the background most of the week, equally making me miss the winter culture at home, as well as beautiful Korea, where I found some of the best mountain running I’ve ever had on this planet. Maybe the solution would be planning a winter adventure to Korea... 🏃🏻♀️❄️🏔🇰🇷
PHOTO: trail running at Deception Pass State Park, Washington last Saturday
REALITY: running (aka trying not to get blown over) in 45 mph sustained winds only AFTER we procrastinated at the trailhead for an hour by eating a bag of chips, taking a 10 min nap in the car, Facetiming my parents, and then deciding to drive to an entirely different trailhead to start our run from there.
IDK about you, but I always think it's fun to know what's going on "behind the scenes" on some of these photos posted on Instagram!
Throwback to this summer on our first of 3 trips to the bottom of the big ditch. We love this place, we fell in love in this place, and we’re prooooobably going back real soon haha. 🤘 #somethingaboutcowboys
#tbt It’s been chilly here in Vegas with the big Blood, Sweat, and Beers race coming up with @desertdashtrailraces. I’ve been trying to start a new training block while being busy at work and juggling life. I’m doing my best to stay motivated.

I ❤️ Digging Deep.
Run streak day: 2,631.
Last September, I surprised myself. I ran a perfect race at the Tahoe 200 Mile Endurance Run. With a big year of training and dream team support, we caught the leaders with 50 miles to go and never looked back. This is my SJ 3.0 vest @ultimatedirectionusa I wore.
Rewind to mile 7, and the first person I noticed cheering runners on as I came through... the legendary Scott Jurek @scottjurek. Wearing his vest, I knew in that moment it would be a special race.
Fast forward to the awards dinner. I brought my vest with me for an autograph, but I couldn’t find Scott. He paced Luis Escobar to a strong finish, and I imagine they were catching up on some sleep. I’d missed my chance. And, what a bummer as the vest, the quest, had come to mean so much more to me by then.
A couple weeks later after putting it out there to our community that I had hoped to get an autograph, I received a message from my speedy friend Monica 🐰 @devremon who put me in touch with badass Luis Escobar @luis_escobar. Luis did me the incredible favor of helping me get my UD vest into Scott’s hands. And, ultimately, Scott was kind to carve out some time to thoughtfully fulfill my autograph wish.
Our community is gold.
Mahalo nui loa, Scott, for your thoughtful encouragement and inspiration. I will “keep doing the gnarly things” and will DIG DEEP ALWAYS! Congrats on your next book, North — I look forward to reading it!
Special thanks to Luis and Monica — this would not have been possible without your supreme kindness and help.
To all my friends, you’re never too young or too old, too fast or too slow, to have heroes and to dream of doing epic things. Bushidō!
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone! Today I took a long Christmas Hike overlooking this canyon but I entered the canyons camera/Phone free, so I leave you this image captured by my friend @acekvale three years ago. #runsteepgethigh
