Well done @gemmaanimallover @beckimcdermott_ for smashing the Harewood House course today!! The foil blankets got there use keeping you warm and giving Tilly her own space ship bed in the back of the car!! @the_bhf #harewoodhouse10k#sisters
I did a very stupid thing yesterday, yet I'm still on a high from it! My ankle has been hurting really badly as a result of 'reckless running routine'. Spent all of Monday in A&E with suspected fracture (turned out its not, phew) been to physio, been limping all over Bristol, been permanently grumpy and feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't get out for a run for three weeks now... then my pal Phil suggested parkrun along the seafront when we're in Brighton. I'm such a relentless optimist, plus any excuse to be out in the sun AND by the sea for as long as possible, I couldn't turn down the opportunity. Even if it meant paying for it by being in pain for another while, I went into the sunshine (and freezing temperature) along with 200 others, enjoyed every second of it, did a good time and I am NOT in pain today!!! Preparing myself for bollocking from the physio in the next appoitment, who said 'attempt only gentle exercise for two weeks'. Life's all about stupid/fun things sometimes. Gotta live it to the fullest!
(Here's a pic of some delish food from @trismcbus that i would love to eat rn...)
Today was a good day with a fun plot twist.
Started out the morning on a semi good note. The bad part is the gym near me was closed, and it was raining very hard.. and i didnt have an umbrella.. so when i ran to the gym a little farther away, i was very wet. Good part is i got in a good work out!
I called that run my warmup and did day two of my PT running progression! I decided today would be a leg day and started with all the PT exercises i have (they are tough!!) then i lifted a bit, and ended on a machine kinda like an elliptical. It ended up being around an hour and a half!
Later i was invited to go on a bike ride tomorrow with the girls tri team since the weather would finally be decent! Problem was i didnt have a bike.. the tri team has some that i could use, so i had to go pick that up. I hurried to the bus stop (bike shop closes at 6pm) to realize i forgot my buckid...so i had to run back to my dorm and get a loaner key, then get mine and return the loaner.. then back to the bus stop. When i got off the bus it started raining again (oh great) it was getting dark by the time i left the bike shop. I was pretty nervous to ride the bike back given ive never riden a road bike on the streets before... but luckily the guy there that helped me was kind enough to lead me to the olentangy trail and i knew i could do it from there! I got poured on again... but it all turned out well and im happy i have the bike now :) im so excited to ride it more!
Then later my friend from small group invited me to hang out with some other people from our church :) it was so much fun!! We played some games and watched a movie and i havent laughed so much in awhile!! I cant wait to get to know that group of people even more and im so happy they invited me :)
K is for Kick Ass.
Powered through my Long Run today as I watched the hilariously stupid superhero movie Kick-Ass. It feels good getting in the miles and Kicking some Ass.

People call me crazy & I do accept that, but anyhow when my moment comes I will be able to say what I am truly capable of whereas others will never know ~ #Advanced64km finisher 7:57:06 🏃🏻♂️The feelings I went through were just amazing and crossing the line I could not hold the tears of happiness and reward from the last three months of training. Special thanks to @ilze_md / @dropsis84 / @spideyrun4fun & @llience 😘💪🇱🇻 #thenomadrunner#TGC2018#ididit#supervaroni#runningchallenge#inov8
I realized my clothes give me power! I had 6 miles on schedule today. As I’m picking out my clothes I chose my Superman tank top!! Why? because I needed a reminder, I’m superwoman and I can do this!
So as I’m approaching my last mile, I turn the movie off, pump the music up, increase my speed from 5.5 to 7.0 and stare at my reflection on the TV screen! SUPERWOMAN IS HERE!! LET’S GO! 🏃🏽♀️
I have never ran this many miles and just to think I’m running a half (13.1) in 7 weeks! But every mile I add is a small Victory!! 🏃🏽♀️
It’s all mental.. you can do all things once your mind decides it will get done! Sike yourself up if you have too! You got this!
It was a dreary and gross looking morning, but I managed a run.
I owe it all to my best LR running buddy Mary. She's a beast and ran over 4 miles before meeting up with me and then ran after I left to meet her goal for the day.
Thankfully it wasn't raining when we were out, but the sky and the river were the same color. And you couldn't see more than a couple hundred feet away due to the fog. It was creepy and awesome at the same time.
One week to the LR 5K and one week and one day to the LR Half. My last half for a while...
