26.2 miles later (yes I ran a marathon today) and still smiling 🏃🏼♀️😊💪🏽 #runnershigh
Looking forward to testing out a couple of shiny new things tomorrow! Probs should give the old bike shoes a clean, because apparently white goes faster... Thank you @peanutbuttertoes 😙
I want to be fully transparent about this workout. Yes, this is what I ran, those were my splits. Yes, I felt exceptionally strong and good today, which does happen from time to time, and when it does it’s a reminder of how perfect running can feel when you are in the zone. I also had all the time in the world to get this workout in, which made a huge difference for me mentally, my fueling was spot on, I had an impromptu rest day yesterday (game changer), and for whatever reason I was just mentally THERE. The truth is I could probably have run this workout yesterday with technically the same level of fitness and not been able to hit my goal paces, much less go under them. This reality is the name of game. I told my coach @csaubin how shocked I was by this workout , to which he responded “you are always fitter than you think”. He’s right, and if I’m learning anything about this distance running thing , it’s that effort is most important- putting in the work, and staying consistent, and then hoping that it all comes together the way it should on race day. I haven’t run a marathon yet, but I know that on the day I make it to the line , my training will be a combination of many failed workouts, some spot on successes, plenty of GI issues, and countless “how hell am I going to do this” musings. I will end this post here, as it is Friday night, and if you have read to the end of this- GO DO SOMETHING MORE FUN 😊😂- just kidding, I’m sitting on my couch about to eat sushi and it’s the most fun I’ve had all week👌
BUT FIRST, TEA
No workout today 😔 still trying to get rid of this cough that I've had for several days.
Since today is my last day off (from work) I decided to tackle a couple chores. One down, one more to go: laundry 😱
But for now, I'll just stare at the enormous pile while I finish and enjoy this cup of tea. 🍵🙈
I love getting to run here! Quick over night getaway at my parents’ vacation Rental in Sodus Point for my youngest sister’s 21st Birthday weekend!! 17mph winds💨 and ended with some 🌧 rain but along the shore is so beautiful who so cares about the wild weather 🤪 Where are some of your favorite places to run? 🏃🏽♀️7 Recovery Miles
🧘🏽♀️22 Mins of Rolling/Mobility/Stretching
🏋🏽♀️36 Mins of Core & Body weight Strength work with my mom in the kitchen and spare room!! 💡Tip!!💡 Working out at home doesn’t have to take ANY equipment or much space up!! I lead our workout using just our body weight!
Needed a change and went for it. 7 inches of hair gone, I feel better and lighter 😂 I told the hair dresser that I probably lost 5 lbs just from that 😂 So #truthbomb it’s been way too long since my last haircut because well I don’t really do things for myself 🤦🏻♀️but I’m changing all of that. So today I got my haircut and went to a cryotherapy session which was the bomb.
Vermont, why don’t you look excited that I’m here?? 🤣🤷🏼♀️ 14 miles to complete my first #dickrun in this beautiful state! 🌲🏔⛷
My phone died 9.3 miles in so I’m posting the route as mapped on @uamapmyrun - womp womp. But also swipe right I got to run the bottom of the head on “Hard Farm Road” 😂 it was actually a very pretty gravel road with small rolling hills.
This was the best crappy run I’ve had in a long time. Forgot my camelback (no H2O), had to do a little trespassing (ok that’s normal for my runs haha), this was V aggressive mileage for me to attempt since I haven’t cleared 10 miles in quite a while, phone died with 5 miles still to go, and that’s when the sleet rain started 🌧🌨- but despite all that I REALLY enjoyed this run. I’ve been having a hard time mentally getting into the longer runs, just looking forward to the end instead of enjoying the scenery, which is SO not me... but today the miles went by so easy and I am now looking forward to more long runs this spring. 🏃🏼♀️
Ok enough of this motivational crap 😂 we all know I ran this 14 miles to preempt the amount of Vermont beer I’m gonna drink this weekend. Fellow skiers beware 🎿⛷🤣... TGIF y’all! .
A power lunch put together in 4 minutes with 4 ingredients: 1/2 avocado🥑, broccoli🥦, and farm fresh eggs🥚 cooked in coconut oil🥥. When you cook for yourself, you know EXACTLY what is in your food... and that is a game changer! 🏅
Injury bench alert. Went to physio. basically i have multiple micro fractures and a stress fracture that's healing so I pb'd worthing half with it. I'm at start of compartment syndrome whatever that is and should be non weight bearing. 2 physios who are runners to came talk to me who can't believe I'm still running especially without pain relief. It feels like i have hot water gong through the veins in my shin and it's hot to touch. I've got orthotics and refused crutches. Advice is no running and back in a month if no better crutches will be essential. Stupid thing is anyone I talk to about this will say to stop look at long term. Most friends and family would be happy for me to quit altogether. Seriously though running is the one time i feel 100% in control. It is my sanity and my time. I feel sick even thinking about cutting it down. Orthotics they have given me I wore all day yesterday and was in more pain than before. Not sure if its because it's different position and my body needs to get used to it or if I'm doing more damage. Today thankfully seems a lot easier. Part of me thinks I should just post about it so everyone knows and I don't have to explain it. Don't want the told you so's or listen to what your told it's the bigger picture that's important or even people thinking I'm just after attention. Spent most of the day in tears either somebody hugged me and i broke down or turned into brick wall. Today I'm better. Pity party for 1 is over. Spent the morning in town with a friend who made me laugh and feeling more positive. Tomorrow I will do a social half that was planned but take it easy and Sunday I am marshalling the Brighton half rather than running it. I will cut my mileage down again and look at cross training at gym and pool and I WILL make the start line at manchester and London marathons in April. #injurysucks#injurybench#injuredrunner#boshrun#lancingeagles#run#runner#marathontraining#thisgirlcan#thismumruns#rmr#runnersofinsta#runnersofinstagram#instarunners#instagramrunners#runnerworld#runforfun#needahug
