@goodgym Lambeth trainer Katie Welly keeping it real on Women’s Health. Talking marathon training, social running and not putting too much pressure on yourself 🙌
@ruthiejuice gets a cheeky mention too #thejags 🐯
Before and after our #RunAndTalk run to support mental health wellbeing. A total of 19 runners took part, well done to each and every one of you for braving the cold and showing your support💪🏼🏃🏼♂️🏃🏻♀️
If you've been out and about in South Gloucestershire just after 9am on a weekday, and spotted a group of people running, having a natter and generally looking fabulous, it's probably a School Gates Running Group.⠀
RunTogether Bristol, created by England Athletics, encourages complete beginners or lapsed runners to start running, regardless of age and fitness ability. ⠀
This is how School Gates Running works:⠀
1. Parents drop the children off at the beginning of the day⠀
and then take part in a running fitness session.⠀
2. An England Athletics qualified run leader takes the group⠀
for eight weeks, once per week.⠀
3. Meanwhile, a volunteer from the school attends a⠀
Leadership in Running Fitness course, funded by England⠀
Athletics, and shadows the run leader.⠀
4. After eight weeks, the volunteer takes over as leader of⠀
5. The group will be registered as a RunTogether group,⠀
putting the school on the national map.⠀
Elm Park School in Winterbourne pioneered the scheme in 2015 and their group have gone from strength to strength ever since. They now have 50 members with many progressing to local parkruns and 10k races! They have inspired many local schools to follow suit, such as Frampton Cotterell C of E, Stanbridge Primary School in Downend and St Mary's in Thornbury.⠀
If you want to find out more, there's lots of information on the South Glos website (just Google School Gates Running).⠀

Who is joining us this week for @buggy_squad run? ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓
Start your week off right and sign up, we are meeting at Marsh Lane Car Park at 9.30, let us know if you need buggy hire 💻 just send us an email and we will be happy to help. Personally I can’t wait to see everyone after being injured/poorly etc (very boring!) and am looking forward to running along the Jubilee River in what seems to be slightly warmer 🤞conditions recently 😁🌤🌺
Proud to be interviewed by @likethewindmag @mrs_leesy for a feature in their latest addition on running’s impact on mental health and well being. :-) good mention of @mindcharity & @englandathletics #runandtalk events as well that allow those with mental health concerns to get out and run and chat with us mental health ambassadors.
Well done to everyone who took park in today’s event at Bedworth! 95 of you ran, jogged and walked this morning looking to catch the parkrun worm! Huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who made the event possible! Have a great weekend folks! #bedworthparkrun#parkrun#parkrunuk#runandtalk

Hey guys!! It’s Wellbeing week at NTU and we’re getting involved! We are hosting a run at 5.15pm tomorrow, normal training is still on too. The idea is to do a short run where people can get some fresh air and have a chat if you’re perhaps feeling a bit rundown, low or stressed. Or even if you’re feeling on top of the world you might be the smiley face someone else needed to see 😃 @helenreading1 and @lcune will be running the session starting at 5.15pm in the City SU, invite your friends! Hope to see some of you there 🌞
TOP session tonight from the #RoseRunners covering over 6K!! Here’s a shot of our warm up 📸Join us next week at 5.30pm or on our #RunAndTalk run on 19th March, dedicated to mental health & wellbeing. Contact Beth.Cook@yorkshirecricketfoundation.com for more info 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏼♂️
Running is a sport that many fear. But before you decide running isn’t for you read this. Running might be an individual sport but it really can change lives and also help people at the toughest times. For me personally running has saved me over and over again from myself and from mental health. People are scared to talk about this topic but I am not. Running has lifted me at very low moments in my life and has helped me transform my mindset to a much healthier place. Through running I coach people that tell me the same about their lives. Through running I have also been lucky enough to meet so many great people and it was great to see some of them today. Meeting @veryhealthycaterpillar in the flesh for the first time was awesome and I know running is such a big part of her world following her inspirational profile, along with @joanneparr1b and Claire. These two ladies are so inspirational continuing a legacy that an amazing woman Becky started before she sadly lost her battle with cancer but another pure example of how running can leave a legacy and inspire others to get out and come together. Running, fitness and sport really can make a difference to mental health and an individuals life. Thank you to all my @hi_runners and to the wider running community for being so inspirational to me and for continuing to motivate me every single day. .
1 year ago today this amazing guy lost his battle with mental illness. Behind the all his kindness, good will and of course ‘that smile’ he was fighting an illness all to common to many... but very rarely spoken about.
Despite everything going on personally ‘Our Jamie’ really embraced and set the example for what our running club is all about! His early posts were fun and creative and although we hadn’t formed long he really tried to spread the word about what we hope to achieve from SBRC.
Since his passing... we have remembered Jamie in various ways, with the intention to keep his legacy going for as long as possible! The one thing Jamie and The Southbank Running Club as whole have in common is that friendly and approachable nature... please don’t forget that! If you are ever struggling... you don’t have to do it alone! 💛💛💛 .
I’m grumpy today as I appear to have caught our daughter’s cough so instead of a 5 mile run, I coached my group this morning from the sidelines and spent the afternoon in bed having a nap and generally feeling rotten. I have to remind myself what I would advise a client who told me they had a chesty cough - I would of course advise them to rest until they’re feeling better because training while the body is fighting germs will never do you any good. So I have to practice what I preach. At least I’m still buzzing from this weekend’s events 😁 #mileswithmichelle#ukrunchat#runnersofinstagram#run#runner#running#runhappy#runninggoals#runandtalk#runningcoach
