[Hell yes, German below]
#day783 and no, it ain‘t easy. ============================= In running just as in life - if you want to get somewhere you have to go there. And that means all the miles. Again and again. ============================= Stop looking for the easy way out. There is no easy way out. There are no easy answers. ============================ So - take the shovel and start digging. ============================ And no, this isn‘t about motivation - this is about being driven. ============================= It‘s a freaking race - so on we run! ============================= day783 and nein, es ist nicht leicht. ============================= Wie im Leben selbst gilt auch beim Laufen - wenn du wo hin willst, musst du den Weg auch gehen.
Den ganzen verdammten Weg. Und zwar: Immer und immer wieder. ============================= Hör auf nach einem einfachen Ausweg zu suchen. Es gibt keinen einfachen Weg. Keine einfachen Antworten. ============================ Nimm die Schaufel und fang an zu schaufeln. ============================ Und nein, das ist keine Motivation. Das hier ist Antrieb. ============================= Es ist ein verdammtes Rennen - also lasst uns rennen! ============================= #everydayrunner#outsideisfree#runtoinspire#willpower#361meraki
You want to stop. Your legs aren’t lifting properly. From somewhere deep inside a voice speaks "Come on, keep going.” You inhale deeply, and your months of training energise tired limbs. Euphoria hits. You’re going to do this. We’re with you #ForTheLongRun#Ronhill 👣

Today's long run was a bit overdue, yet again I didn't plan training around work shifts well enough.
It was supposed to be a fairly easy paced run (I feel like a lot of my posts start with that sentence...) at around 10:30 - 11:00 min/mi pace... However I seem to be utterly useless at actually taking an easy run easy. So this averaged at 9:55 pace over what many of you may know is a bit of a hilly/undulating loop. Safe to say I was knackered by the end of it but it still felt pretty good 😃. It's just under a week and a half now until my 10k and I'm on the fence as to whether it will end up being a proper pb attempt or not. On one hand I've missed quite a few training runs due to work fatigue and blips in my motivation... But on the other hand, I am run training more consistently now than I ever have been before... So in theory it should be easy, I just don't feel that fit or fast at the moment.
Not about the marathon training today, it was just about getting out for an early one with @louballoch.runs for the first 10k this year. Great to be back out with my number 1 training buddy 😁
Brighton Marathon Training Week 5 Day 3 - A not very Easy Run with Luke and Boris
Ok so the training plan called for an easy run for an hour today so running with Luke ... Yeah probably not the best idea. We've proved dozens of times that we just can't pace a slow run 😂😂 A sub 50 minute 10 after running 16 miles yesterday, and getting not a tonne of sleep, I felt the pace this morning. But it's done now, no damage done and just some tired legs to nurse.
It was the first time I've run with Luke for a while so it's good to catch up, worth the sore legs. Shame we couldn't get the bacon sarnies though 😔
Day 172 of my #runningstreak 😃 This could be flowers on the photo! But the Spring has not yet come and this is just some fresh snow that was falling during my run ❄🏃♀️🙆🏼♀️😃
Another #nightrun done. Just easy 3km... if it wouldn't be so late and almost time for bed I would just run 🔃. I was enoying it so much ❤. And I got the feeling (for the first time) that those two sets of intervals I did in last 2 weeks helpped 😊💪🙆🏼♀️
Wish you all to find some moments of joy in the brand new tomorrow (psst, it is already here! Must sleep 😆)😃🤗
Brighton Marathon Training Week 5 Day 2 - Long Run HR Paced Z2
My first midweek long run of Brighton training done 😁
The target today was for a 90 - 100 minute easy pace long run, so like training for Birmingham last year I decided to use my heart rate as a guide and try to stay in Zone 2 as much as possible, which I managed with 70% of the run being in Z2.
Compared to yesterday's 5 mile easy run today felt a lot easier and I didn't feel like I was pushing at any point today. I might not be young enough to run a half marathon and bounce straight back it seems, but give me a day and I'm good to go again 😂
MK Winter Half Marathon "2017"
First real race of the season and .... .... new half marathon PB 😲😲 After a slow, congested start I'd given up on this as a race 200m in. I spent most of the first 5k running on the grass at the side of the footpaths I was meant to be running on just to find some free air to run in.
My plan was to set off at 7:30 - 8:00 mile pace and see how long I could hold that for, then drop back to something a bit easier and just nog it home. I was thinking that would come by mile 8 or maybe 9, so when mile 11 ticked over at 7:45 pace I decided to push for it and see how I felt. It was a race after all, and I had people ahead of me to try to overtake 😉
I made my life more difficult than it needed to be by trying to do what I did for my 2 halves last year, and that's not drink or eat during the race itself. So no water and jelly babies for me (I actually hate jelly babies btw 😂). Going past the #drr cheer squad of @teeaigoro and @louballoch.runs at the start of the last mile I decided to go for it, without destroying myself too much, this wasn't a focus event for me. Mile 13 was the fastest of the race (7:16) and the last 0.1 was at 6:19/ mile pace so cheers for the encouragement to push for it 💜💜 Cos of the really slow start I'd not been keeping any kind of eye on times, I only looked at the first mile split time on my watch at the end of mile 5, so when I went over the line and stopped my watch said 1:40:31 I had to do a classic double take cos I honestly thought it must have said 1:46:31 😂
I'm a bit annoyed now that without the slow, literally ground to a stop then walk, start I'd have been a member of the sub 1:40 club now, but this was my real season opening race, so I'll take it for now. Benchmark set 🏃♂️💪🏻😊 #daventryroadrunners#teampurple#mkwinterhalf
Day 170 of my #runningstreak 😃 11km on snowy and muddy trails, I enjoyed every minute!
I have even met other runners today (usually I am too late 😆)! It is some kind of special moment when the eyes meet and we quickly smile and nod to each other... an invisible and transient connection due to at least one common passion two total strangers share 😊💛😊 It is not everywhere that the runners greet each other... I noticed that on my travels. Gratefull I live in a community where this is just something normal 😃
Feeling similar when I am reading your #instarunners stories! And I am surprised sometimes that there are quite a few passions we share 😃! It motivates me and makes me humble at the same time. So much to learn and experience in this life! Wish you all a great start of another week in our lives we can use also to learn and explore the unknown... and maybe become a little bit smarter and stronger 🤗💛🤗
