So just around 3 weeks to go to the Commonwealth games and as far as we're concerned when it comes to the 800metres all eyes will be on our amazing friend Angie Petty who'll be representing New Zealand 🇳🇿. and with her now being part of our family, we'll all be hoping and praying she has the most amazing games.
Angie shared her short story with us all recently, which you can read on our Facebook page at ‘Fight for the Fatherless 2017’. We’ve also shared a video there from New Zealand TV, starring Angie and some of the other athletes competing in the games. It certainly got us thinking that one of the most important aspects of training and being successful in any area of life is in looking to be repetitive in reaching excellence with each performance and continually improving on what you've achieved before.
So that brings us to our challenge this week. We want you to see if you are able to repeat and perfect a skill over and over again and this week.
We’re not going to choose any specific skill, especially because the video features different athletes and disciplines other than Angie's. So here's what we want you to do. Pick whichever skill you enjoy practicing the most. It could be Press ups, Sprints, Football Penalties, Basketball shots, Skateboarding or Bike tricks it doesn't have to be a sports based skill it can be writing or drawing, playing music absolutely anything. Then the aim is to do it once then if you think you've done it well try and repeat it and improve on it maybe 3 times then 5 times then ten. In that repetition you should get better and better until you have that same sense of achievement that many of the athletes will have at the Games next month. So how you go and importantly see how you feel at the end of the challenge. Hopefully you’ll feel amazing.
Well It's been a fantastic week and we're looking forward to ending it well with our family prayer tomorrow which we always do on a Sunday and we hope you’ll join us for that on our pages. Have a great Saturday God bless and see you tomorrow.
Happy 45th Wedding Anniversary to my Mom & Dad. May you continue to be blessed in all areas of your lives. Always giving their last to others in need & never asking for anything in return #RoleModels @elianncro
Life has thrown some curve balls at me over last couple of years and I would never have got through it without my 2 mums. They picked me up and scraped me off the floor when I got back to Aus after loosing Dad and Mum. Love you both so much. #bestpicEVER#aussiefamily#rolemodels @corkatron80 @alexholderness
