My doctor once said my numbers were so low between my iron and thyroid he wondered how I got out of bed some days. Of course, I have always been like this so I just assumed it was the norm. I never really used it as a excuse, throughout my weight loss journey because regardless of my energy it still has to get done. Although it makes it sooo hard some days. I am an example that it can be done and I don't exactly take what I should daily to deal with it either. I know 😬. Once and a while, I get weeks like this and man it is super tough. I spent last night in the emergency room. I ate something that gave me an allergic reaction and my throat started to close. Knowing that I had enough time to get to The hospital was comforting but it makes me think about all the people who don’t have access to life saving healthcare. This includes people who can’t afford insurance, have no means of transportation and live in rural areas. My Epipen recently expired and as I received my prescription for a new one I realized for some others getting a new prescription is cost prohibitive. Accidents happen. I did not willingly ingest the thing I knew would make me sick. There was cross contamination which can be just as deadly. Next time you see someone complaining about how “their taxes are paying for blank” remind them that they are blessed to have the extra to share with the less fortunate. Remind them that caring about others is what makes you human and that empathy is a sign of strength. Thank you to my wonderful nurse Harvey last night who addressed the situation with urgency. That you to the triage nurse who recognized I needed help and put me directly into a room. Thank you to my fabulous husband who never leaves my side even when I tell him to go home and sleep. You make me feel braver than I really am. Today I will be working from home and taking it easy.
