#WorldWaterDay : Essential to all life, sacred and scarce.
We were recently blessed with being in the presence of Aunty Ivy (NZ), an elder and healer whose mission is to bring Universal Wisdom to assist in the global healing of people and of Mother Earth.
As a front line protector of Earth’s Water, in 2018 Aunty Ivy is visiting 20 countries to bring awareness of our current path, exchange wisdom in ceremonies, and share the healing of peace, harmony and unconditional love, so that we may evolve to being custodians of our beautiful Mother Earth, and help to heal her for our future generations.
The culmination of her walk will end in Africa on New Years Eve, where we can all be part of the celebration of this healing journey, and of coming together to protect and heal our Earth’s Water.
We’ll be following Aunty Ivy’s journey this year - please get in touch if you’d like to know more 🙏🏼💦💙

Today is World Water Day! 🌏💦 A day we love to celebrate (who doesn’t love water!), but it comes with an important message. Did you know agriculture currently accounts for 70% of the world’s water withdrawals, mostly for irrigation? It’s a figure we can believe as eating a beef burger has the same water footprint as a month of daily showers! 🚿🍔😱
@un_water is highlighting how nature-based solutions can address the huge water challenges we face including floods, droughts and pollution. Solutions include restoring forests, grasslands and natural wetlands, reconnecting rivers to flood plains and creating buffers of vegetation along water courses. Their message is “The Answer is in Nature.” Makes sense to us to help nature do its thing!
Take action by sharing this post to raise awareness. Even better, go meat free today and sign up to volunteer at your local nature conservation project. Tell a friend why - they’ll likely want to join you 👫🌿👍
You can find more water facts on our website and on the UN Water website. 📷 @un_water
It’s not a very exciting photo if we’re honest. Though we did try to find it’s good side 😜 But these coffee tins play an important part in @dgcoffeeroasters bid to reduce waste and they are one of the many reasons we are proud to partner with them. Our coffee is delivered each week in these reusable tins and once empty, they are collected, washed and reused. Just think of how many foil lined paper bags would have instead gone to landfill! #wedrinkalotofcoffee ☺️ The best part? They actually keep the coffee fresher! ☕️😍 Time to think about the footprint of your daily coffee...? 🤔
I also bumped into @maryslivingandgivingbermondsey today as it happens to be directly opposite the @fashiontextilemuseum very well placed for some fab fashion finds! Needless to say I popped in for a browse and try on 💕. I love love love this gorgeous @aliceandolivia lace dress (pic 1), it's so incredibly beautiful. I wanted to buy it but wasn't sure as it has quite a low back and I never like to leave my boobs without a bra/internally structured support if I can help it as they are actually E cups though I don't think it always shows in my pics! I may have to go back to see if it is still there at the weekend though as it's perfect in every other way and I'm sure I can find a solution to make it wearable 😍😍😍. I brought the stripe blouse by @topshop as I love the colours, style and oversized fit and it will match the mustard satin Zara heels I brought from @maryslivingandgiving Richmond last week. I also brought the cute brand new with tags peach and white laser cut lace dress by French label Naf Naf as it was just so Summery 💕. #charityfashion#charityshopfind#charity#thrifty#london#londonbridge#charityshopper#secondhandfashion#preloved#reducereuserecycle#ethicalfashion#guiltfree#bermondsey#secondhand#fashionfind#lookgoodforless#maryslivingandgiving#maryportas#savethechildren
Good Afternoon, CFA! Stop by the Fine Arts Building to see the wonderful replica of the building itself made out of 100% recycled materials by an @fsuart class led by Professor Kevin Curry. The students of this course were able to keep this piece together by ironing the recycled materials together to ensure that the FAB replica would last for the duration of the two-week period that it will be on display outside of the Fine Arts Building on FSU's campus. We love to see the creativity, hard-work, and innovation that stems out of our classrooms! #fsucfa#fsuart#reducereuserecycle

I finally ordered reusable cotton rounds after seeing them a ton on YT videos on reducing waste etc I only use cotton pads at this point to take off nail polish but I know these will be very handy. I will set aside a few for that purpose and reserve the rest for facial use. I purchased a 13 pack from a user called mamabearbabywear on Etsy and it was $5 + $3.16 shipping which is the best deal I saw on there at that time. They may be expensive compared to disposable pads but these will last a long time and they’re machine washable. My first impression is that they’re the perfect size (basically standard cotton round size) and they feel nice and soft. #reducingwaste#zerowaste#reducereuserecycle#reusablecottonrounds#projectpancommunity#savemoney#veganbeautyproducts#sustainableliving
It might not be pretty but now I can wear these jeans without worrying about flashing my underwear or the holes that were there getting bigger. There's a patch on the reverse made of part of some older jeans #makedoandmend#reducereuserecycle#sydeltaartist
We are ready for the sun now our favourite sun cream has arrived 🌞.
I’m a big fan of green people products in general, but the sun cream is our absolute favourite. It’s made using natural organic ingredients, like avocado oil and rosemary leaf extract, and works wonderfully (mine and Colby’s pale freckly skin put any sun cream to the ultimate test!). It also doesn’t stain clothes like other suncreams can.
Another big plus for us are the company’s credentials - cruelty free, 100% recyclable packaging, use renewable energy and donate to the Marine Conservation Society to name a few 👍🏻.
To any other momma clutching a coffee as if it holds the secrets to life: I feel you. I may be rocking Levis and a buzz cut, but my soul is 100% messy bun and yoga pants today. Randy worked late and I did bedtime alone, and oh my word: I've come to the conclusion my son just does. Not. Sleep. And then Molly was up at 5 am. She's an independent sweetheart and didn't make me get up with her but she was awake... laughing. For two hours. I'm slightly concerned. I'm not going to say something uninformed like "oh my gosh, I totally get what single moms go through!" Because I don't have a clue, but I will say: to any mom barely keeping it together with enough coffee and mascara today - I feel you bro ❤ #doctorsinthehouse#momlife#tiredmomma#honestmotherhood#coffee#starbucks#reducereuserecycle#dishwashernotlandfill#love
Compost is wonderful!! Regrann from @sharewaste - Roughly 50% of all rubbish we produce can be recycled: composted, eaten by worms or farm animals. But instead, many people still put organic waste in their garbage bin together with non-recyclables and send the valuable contents to landfill. 🌱
Contrary to what many people think, organic waste in landfill doesn't decompose and enrich the soil—due to lack of oxygen it rots and produces large amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
Unlike commercial recycling of plastic, paper and other materials, recycling organic material is very cheap, easy to do and with ShareWaste it is now accesible to everyone!
It can be challenging to avoid plastic or buy ethical products only but recycling organic waste is something each of us can and should do!
Join ShareWaste and connect with like-minded people in your community. Let's close the food loop together!

I’ve had this top for years and I kept it because I love the colour and texture but the collar put me off... so I fixed the issue ✂️ I cut off the collar and hemmed it by hand. Basically a new wardrobe item, and now I’ll wear it plenty! 〰️ (Also, why isn’t there a sewing emoji yet?!)
Sunday scenes out in the Wild West 💐
Absolutely zero regrets over travelling 60 mins to visit @thesourcebulkfoods in Turnham Green. Their first UK store is fully open in all it’s scoop and weigh glory, catering to all your grains, pulses, flour, nuts, seeds, super foods, powders and chocolates. They are totally plastic free and encourage people to bring their own jars and containers and to only buy as much as you really need to avoid those depressing “I needed it for one recipe and now it’s collecting dust at the back of my cupboard” situations. Fan girl 🙋🏻♀️ #plasticfree#reducewaste#banthebag
Just back from vacation! I was having fun and swimming at the hotels indoor pool while a family with 6 kids left their complimentary drink trash ALL over the place 😠 Even in the water!! Straws, cups, and wet cardboard coffee sleeves! It made me SO angry but it helped me realize I don't need to be at a beach to do a clean up. The fact that people litter without a care in the world as to where the garbage might end up is awful 😟
Small changes impact greatly..
Now I'm not one who is going to walk down the street and critisize anyone using a plastic straw but I have chosen myself to head in a less wasteful direction by not using them.. And instead using these awesome reusable straws from @bamboo.roots for my daily smoothies and when I go out.
In the U. S. alone we use over 500 million plastic drinking straws per day. That is enough plastic waste to wrap the entire circumference of the earth two and half times!
One of my goals this year is to definitely cut back on my plastic waste consumption.. Small steps for great lifelong changes 👌
🌎I know many of us are conscious about sustainable methods, including recycling. I use brown paper bags for the bars ...now, I usually take my reusable grocery bags when I shop but sometimes I have more groceries than bags. So I’ll use the paper sacks and put them to use. 😊
It is brilliant what Blue Planet 2 did to change the mindset of the everyday person! So good to see more and more news reports where change is being made! All the hard work done by so many is starting to reap rewards! Still along way to go, but we got this!
🐒🐘 ZOO SMALL WORLD🦒🦓 Monkeys is our hot topic this week with Oli. He has been asking me to take him to the zoo 🐢🐅 to see the monkeys, 🐵 so I thought why not set up a little zoo invitation for him to explore over this week. When @crazydayswith2 posted about #kmart having an artificial grass table runner I dropped everything and RAN.🏃♀️ I decided to use up some of our recycled materials and added them to our little zoo small world. My laundry cupboard is filled with empty formula tins that I’m slowly getting through and using for craft ✂️ storage, and other activities such as this one! 👆I do wish that #kmart still stocked these gorgeous wooden animals though! #recycle#reducereuserecycle
