Kid Dakota / Denervation / Graveface Records / Record Club hand pour 26/200 • Denervation is a great album I didn’t know I needed. It’s essential listening for this year as are most artists on the Graveface roster. Cool looking vinyl by @newfumes is always a favorite, too! #kiddakota#denervation#gravefacerecords#gravefacerecordclub

I have @jimaaaah to thank for today’s post. Over a year ago, he kindly invited me into his home for a night of great music and conversation. Now, I pride myself on feeling pretty knowledgeable about music, but throughout the night, Jim introduced me to a number of great bands and singers I’d never heard of before. This was probably my favourite of all the records he played for me. It’s the posthumous solo release by one of the former frontmen of the iconic group, Big Star. At that time, pressings of this were out of my price range, but luckily @omnivorerecordings has released this stunning clear pressing of a truly awesome record.
CHRIS BELL - I AM THE COSMOS (1992, reissue 2017)
I feel as if, out of the five releases by the most successful line up this band ever saw, this here is the one that gets forgotten about most often. I’m here to tell you, that’s a mistake. Now, obviously I’m not going to sit here and suggest to anyone that there’s anything wrong in loving Rumours or Tusk... it truly would be a crime to utter such ideas. Of course, Rumours belongs on any essentials lists that it sits on. It’s phenomenal. But, my friends, give this 1987 release here the attention it deserves! ‘Pretty Little Lies’? Yes. ‘Seven Wonders’? Very yes. ‘Everywhere’? Certainly yes. Yes indeed, they’re all perfection! I don’t think I’m exaggerating at all when I make the claim that the music on this album is even more beautiful that the cover art! And that cover is pretty darn beautiful! C’mon folks, let’s get on board! Who’s with me??? FLEETWOOD MAC - TANGO IN THE NIGHT (1987)
