I've been thinking about the photography and it's relationship to the physical world and what it represents in relation to us. It captures particles of light and allows us to see a reflection of an event or of us. Yet, we know the product is only a fiction, a representation of the real thing. And yet it is the representation that informs us of the present. It instills, shapes, and forges memories within us, to such an extent that we believe them to be true. Among many other questions, of which I won't answer here, it leads me to ask how do I use it and how does it inform my life? Should I look at it as a preservation of data, events, and so on? Should I continue to look at it as I have, a simply the art itself? Essentially treating the photo as the end and not the moment or events happening. What elements am I missing when I take the photos in the way I do? Just food for thought and a download before sleep. Night everyone.
