Valentine’s for the Dead, May they Rest In Peace
We decided to share our wealth of Valentines flowers 💐 with diseased family, friends, and *acquaintances. (*Those that throughout multiple visits over the years we have grown accustomed to see buried next to our loved ones, those who multiple times we “chatted” and prayed for, as well as those who we had the honor to recently “meet” and have been recently layed to rest...two that same day.) The girls always find a way to make any experience memorable and fun. The two year old’s decided to each pray at the burial site of every person we visited, carefully leave them flowers, and then dash off in a memorable way... holding hands, skipping away, rolling away, or playing tag and chasing after each other. Their prayers were simple, sweet, and very tender. Always thanking god for their specific relationship with the diseased and for their soul, which was in heaven.
Coming to the cemetery on Valentines to leave flowers 💐 for family, friends, and acquaintances is now an ongoing tradition...one I never thought would actually occur this year, but by the grace of God did. A very sweet experience indeed. I’m glad we had the opportunity to continue this tradition and hope that somehow it repeats in years to come.
I just haven’t been able to get my head around last week. The hate, the horror...all of it. My heart aches for this Florida school community. I can’t even imagine what they are going through. ..can’t even imagine. But one thing happened last week in my life that was in such complete contrast, that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it either. It’s about a rose and another high school teenage young man. It’s a story that didn’t make the national news; I think it should have, but that’s not how this world works though— we don’t hear near enough about the beautiful things that happen everyday. So here’s the story: A young man at our daughter’s high school decided he wanted to give EVERY GIRL in the high school a single long-stemmed rose. For Valentine’s Day. For love. Simply out of love, just for LOVE. But there are thousands of students in this high school, so this was a big undertaking. A fundraising campaign was launched and $1,800 dollars were raised to buy somewhere around 1,500 roses—I don’t have the exact number, but one for every young lady in the school. Class officers were recruited to stand at all the doors Tuesday morning, and give out the roses (which they worked late into the night before to de-thorn). My daughter was sick on Tuesday, but she still came home with her rose on Wednesday, Valentine’s Day. The fine young man who organized the rose giveaway had also made sure to leave enough roses in the attendance office for any girl not getting one on Tuesday. I will never forget this rose; this story; this beautiful act of loving-kindness by another high school young man on Valentine’s Day. I’m hanging onto it tight...if ever there was a life-preserver, this is mine. I hope it’s yours too now...if you need it to be. 🌹 #lovingkindness#randomactsofkindness#lovenotesaroundtheworld#bethechange

I expect nothing in return after my (random) acts of kindness towards the special needs community. I do it for selfless reasons which are I love doing it, to make the special needs community and their families happy, and because its what's right and those are the reasons why anyone else should do the same especially because its what's right❤ #specialneedsacceptance#randomactsofkindness#lateRandomActsofKindnessDaypost
We had a lovely day yesterday, after a weekend of this one being a little bit under the weather (eg whining and hot and bothered at 3am - why is it always in the middle of the night? 😑) Stopped off at @charlottecafes for lunch after a park date with new friends, which turned out to be a great decision 🙌🏻 The food was really good, the service super friendly, and they had a shelf of children’s books, which kept Niven entertained for ages. To the woman who came over to tell me how lovely it was to hear me reading to my son ... thank you, you absolutely made my day 💙🙏🏻👦🏼 He’s ill again today, so we’re stuck home watching Netflix. Glad yesterday was a good one!
Today’s act of kindness was leaving a note in the melons at the grocery store for someone to find.
“You’re one in a Melon! Have a lovely day!”
I hope this little note made someone smile today. “By doing small acts of kindness we can do great things “
Molly took $5.00 with her to @awcanada on #randomactsofkindness Day this weekend. She was on the hunt for someone who looked like they needed a pick me up. She found a man and offered to pay for his meal. He took the $5.00, added $1.00 of his own and bought her this 4 pack of root beer for her and her family instead of buying something for himself. She told me “Mommy, the plan backfired but that’s ok. I’ll find someone tomorrow who needs my help”. ❤️
"My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who you are and astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness." - Maya Angelou // I've been really working on focusing on what's important recently and kindness just seems to always win. 💕 #artbymeganbeaches
050- There is just something about gift baskets that make me so happy. They are almost always given with a smile and always received with a smile. There is always a hint of mystery with them too, like a little adventure awaits. I think this feeling is how Christmas should truly feel like. What's something that you recently gave to someone? What about something you received? #thankful#gifts#smile#mystery#giftbasket#randomactsofkindness#365daychallenge#feelinggood
After filing at the Carteret County Board of Elections, and before speaking at the “Blue Wave Rally” - we had lunch in Morehead City. I caught James in random acts of kindness and service, holding the door open for patrons today at Panera Bread. All his idea.

We have our first random act of kindness completed! Our amazing sales rep for @espsalonsales , Glenis (@gleniskrowchenko ) has been the head of our first deed! She and her adorable little son, Hudson, are making it happen tomorrow at his school, Educare! All of the students in his class will be painting rocks for the residents of the Rotary House Seniors Lodge. Each rock will also have a little message for the resident on it! What an adorable way to brighten up someone’s day. Just one way we are giving back to this amazing community. Thanks so much Glenis! Stay tuned for each of our employees giving back to Fort McMurray in their own way.
“Living your life in this scared, fearful place is not healthy. You need to talk to people and get out of that place – with conversation, a hug, or even putting notes on people’s cars because you never know what they’re going through.”

The Utah/Colorado tour is turning out to be the unexpected outstanding kindness tour.
This morning I went to ski at Snowbasin before heading to my next stop and met Kerry, who happened to be at one of the Banff shows in Ogden. Today was also a rare powder day this season since apparently this has been the worst snow season in Utah since the 70s! In spite of the rarity of this post storm morning, Kerry and his son Shawn welcomed me to the resort, showed me all the secret powder stashes 😀and made the 3rd busiest day of the year at this hill seem not very busy at all! They also happen to be kick ass skiers. Even with a few rocks disguised as moguls this snow was unreal!!!!! So light! Lighter than marshmallows. 😉
