Few will know the #nightmare that is bending pre-bent #AC#lines . Having #heatedSeats is a blessing, but AC in a #Kswap is a #Daily#miracle ! I may not use my seat heaters every morning in winter, but I do use the AC to some extent #everyday in the #summer ! Having the #Extra#Displacement in these small #cars can really make them into a #oven , so AC is important for #comfort . #AirConditioning is relatively simple, and cooling the air is done in 2 simple steps; Compressing the #R134 Refrigerant and then Allowing it to Expand; thus #Super cooling the air as it actually pulls surrounding heat around its expansion. As magic as it sounds, its simple really, the tricky part is troubleshooting the many components in the system that can go wrong; from #Compressor , #Electromagnetic#Clutch , Pressure Switch, and #Expansion Valve. Running AC on a kswap can get trickier because the #Vtec Pressure switch is used to power the AC relay, so the wiring has to be modified as well as the Aluminum Lines; which have to be moved to fit a Kseries Engine into the bay. First step is moving the small Swirl tank, and then modifiying the hoses to goto it. I have done this at least twice before, but it never gets any easier... the high pressure lines are small and they love to kink! This time I decided to add welding to the mix and make the job slightly more bearable. After one line kinked and cracked, welding the thin aluminum tubing was impossible, but a left over line from #Mushu helped keep the #build going.
