Day 10- Time to relax on #marchmeetthemaker . I always have so many other creative projects on the go, from paintings, to party decorations, to children’s book illustrations, so when I’m not making jewellery or running my business I’m generally working on these other projects. I love doing them because they are a compleat break from the week and by taking my mind off of “work” I relax.🌸
Change of pace on a Friday afternoon... a little watercolour study. The old paint palette bottom left used to belong to my Grandfather who was also an illustrator and artist. Did you know that if you just add water to watercolour paints they come back to life? #neverthrowthemout#theygoonforever I just love painting with them, knowing he did too. 💙 More on stories 👆🏻
I've been working on this commission on and off for three months now... finally got around to doing the painting this week. First job completed for the new year, and it feels good! 🙌 Gorgeous photos for reference were by @theduckhutt . Off to the @eastgippslandartgallery to deliver to its new owner ☺️
Ready to go....
"King pink" 100cm diameter circle is off to the @africanartcentre ...contact them for the details...they will send it anywhere in the world...a little South African floral and protea love🇿🇦🌿
Stepping way out of my comfort zone and painting BRIGHT and COLOURFUL!
These beautiful watercolours from @pepperconarts arrived yesterday, and a King Protea seemed like a fitting subject to test them on! Painted with one of my most treasured painting possessions, my personalised brush from @winsorandnewtonau.
Ps- I paint and write with the most tense fingers!! Can't seem to get that index finger to relax! 😂
