Flashback Friday/transformation pic!!!! There are about 6 months between these pictures, from the beginning of September to almost the end of February.
I’m honestly in shock. I’m so proud of myself for never giving up and NEVER giving in.
I am lucky. I have always felt confident in the gym. Being a swimmer, i started working out in a gym when I was 12 years old. But being confident and knowing what you’re doing are two different things. I decided months ago that i wanted to grow a booty but i didn’t know how. Thats where @elizabethzaks came in!! 😄😄 i was lucky enough to find her insta one day and decided to watch her YouTube videos. They were so helpful and in only 2 months I had gained muscle!! I wanted more, so i bought her EZ Booty a Builder guide. Every workout in that guide is killer. I sweat so much by the end 😂😂 the Guide was also extremely helpful for designing workouts. I am so happy!!!! 😄😄
Consistence is key. Stick with it, you won’t be sorry. Oftentimes i wish things would happen over night. But it doesn’t work like that. Sometimes i get impatient, but then i remember that 6 months are going to pass either way. Do you want to come out of those 6 months exactly the same as before, or do you want to come out stronger than you ever thought you could be? 6 months ago my best leg press was 300lbs. I’m at 375lbs now.
My club swim team motto was “never give in.” I haven’t. And i never will.
So. For those of you who have followed me for a bit, you know that no foods (not even broccoli, sorry) burn fat directly from our body; that being said, though, some foods and drinks are a bit more helpful for fat loss for the reasons listed above in the graphic. The reality though is that any food can be integrated into your diet when trying to lose fat. Keeping that in mind is helpful.
Any of those factors not make sense? Scroll down my page to part 1, which has a more detailed explanation of those and what makes them more conducive for fat loss. The short answer though is that they tend to be low calorie, high protein, rich in nutrients, high fiber, flavor enhancing, and/or good for sustainability. All things that help you stay healthy in a moderate calorie deficit and build habits for the long-term.
I know some of you saw that milkshake and probably thought I was out of my mind lol. I'm not, but I do really like milkshakes and long-term success.
Living the healthy, lean lifestyle isn't JUST about the other factors in the graphic. If you want to build habits that last for the long-term, then you need to fit in other foods and drinks in moderation that you really enjoy from time to time. Milkshakes happen to be one of those. They aren't "healthy", but they along with most other foods can be fit into a balanced nutrition approach that keeps you within your needed protein and calorie targets.

So happy with looking at my progress in #standingforwardfold as part of the #happierhamstringschallenge , as it highlights the progress we can all make through regular yoga practise.
My Yoga practise is where I learn self acceptance. It is the place where I learn the importance of allowing the space to naturally occur without force and it is the place where I am forever grateful for my bodies amazing capacity to move with freedom from pain.
This has always been one of my favourite postures which most definitely plays a massive part in my bodies willingness to move into it. More often that not if I am faced with a posture that my body is ‘not naturally’ good at, it usually throws up a great deal of resistance which is highlighted through physical discomfort, emotional attachment or complete avoidance of the posture altogether. This resistance is a great indicator that these postures need to feature more in my daily practise. The postures we fight against will be the ones that teach us the most about ourselves both off and on the mat. This yoga stuff is mighty clever shiz (who knew😜). Thanks to my wonderful teacher and soul sister @anniesyoga for your guidance and photoskills. Peace out ✌🏻
It took me an obnoxious amount of time to become comfortable + confident enough to try to bench press. Now it's become one of the exercises that I look forward to the most. Slowly working on getting to my first goal of 135 but in the meantime #practicemakesprogress
After a rough week, I am taking the advice I used with my oldest this week in our struggles... ‘do your best’. My mom always taught me to do my best. I have strived to do just that my entire life. I had to explain to Nathan that no one is perfect, but we can all strive to do our best. #groundworkingit challenge day 5 - arm balancing - sorry guys I only know crow 😱🙄😬 so I was a bit stuck - I’m posting anyway - not much I can do about it today 😭 this is after 90 mins in the gym & 20 mins of handstands - I was going to do some crow press ups but my wrists didn’t feel very happy - then my crow wrist taps were rubbish - oh well at least it’s Friyay - more time to practice at the weekends 😭💕

My first attempt at iPad calligraphy and boy was it HARD. First of all, I can’t print for squat my handwriting is awful. So I actually found the print part to be way more difficult. I have been up since 3:30 this morning, partly because my son woke up and fussed for a bit. And partly because I just couldn’t go back to sleep. I was wide awake. This is a huge NSV for me because I used to always feel exhausted and I NEVER wanted to wake up. I would sleep through my alarms. Anyway, I made breakfast with all my extra time to get ready for work. Today and every day I want to focus on what I’m getting right. To speak kindly to myself, to be gentle to myself. It is far too easy to focus on what is going wrong, and then remain in a dark place. Choosing to focus on success and positive changes has released insecurities, and increased confidence in myself. I used to make excuses, and apologize for being me, for being human. What I should have been doing is finding the lesson from the experience, and moving on. A work in progress is a beautiful thing, and I feel most beautiful knowing I’m doing the best I can each day. #beyoncéwasntbuiltinaday

...Kennt ihr das auch🤔 ihr habt etwas gefunden das euch auf irgendeine Art glücklich macht ob es nun die Leidenschaft für ein Ziel ist oder eventuell eine neue Partnerschaft....egal, (-naja eigentlich nicht egal da wie Einstein schon sagte " If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things"- aber das ist ein anderes Thema😜) .....auf jeden Fall....in dem Moment wenn ihr es gefunden habt kommt sofort die Angst es wieder verlieren zu können... ihr stellt euch sofort die Frage könnte ich ohne es leben? Will ich so verwundbar sein? ...mir geht es tatsächlich häufig so seit ich mir Meilensteine und Ziele für mein Leben setze...ich versuche mir immer bewusst zu machen das diese Angst da sein darf und trotz dessen jeden Tag weiter mache und die Angst nicht wirklich echt ist sondern nur ein Barometer dafür das ich jetzt tatsächlich etwas zu verlieren habe -gefühlt natürlich 😅
