Today I’m thankful for adventuring with my two lil explorers (aka my grandbabies)...be sure to scroll left to see all of our day! As I continually bent down, capturing at their level, the lower I got the higher my gaze lifted. Until finally I too began finding joy in even the rocks on the ground (we had a rock throwing contest.😜) No wonder JESUS said, ✝️“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”~Matthew 18:3
Children see things differently. They notice and enjoy whatever is around them.
Each bird, no matter how big or small, brought smiles to their adorable faces. Pebbles in the gravel were to be thrown. Everyone that passed by received a joyful smile and “Hi!” from Ava. Grayson tweet tweeted back at the birds and also thought it was funny to growl at them😂. They held hands, while searching for treasure, and stopped again and again to admire the little things along the way.
Friends, I hope you’ll allow childlike joy to spring to the forefront of your weekend. Pray and ask The LORD to help you notice, giving pause, reflecting, smiling through the journey. Let’s lift our gaze higher as we go lower, allowing GOD to rejuvenate a childlike wonder within.

Göreme - Turkey - Cappadocia, a semi-arid region in central Turkey, is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. Other notables sites include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used as refuges by early Christians. The 100m-deep Ihlara Canyon houses numerous rock-face churches.
Figure in a (desert) landscape, Death Valley National Park, CA. -- title inspired by one of my favorite chapters in Galen Rowell's book, Mountain Light. (Although, according to the rules of Instagram photography, I think I may have done this incorrectly; the person isn't shown at night holding a flashlight, standing with his arms held wide in Celebration, or sitting on a rock overlooking a mountain valley. - My bad.) ___
One of the images featured in my new Death Valley photo gallery on my website.
