Whitney Houston / Brana Hill
@branahill (swipe ⬅️) "I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows,
If I fail, if I succeed, At least I'll live as I believe,
No matter what they take from me, They can't take away my dignity." These beautiful lyrics live in the powerful ballad, “Greatest Love of All” from Whitney Houston’s debut album launched on February 14th 1985. They are words model and singer, Brana Hill, has lived by since her middle school graduation performance of the song. Brana found her voice, found her courage as a creative and as a woman, through Whitney’s pure pursuit of singing. Just as this album was the starting line for Whitney’s influential career, this song first taught Brana about personal strength. As Brana says, “These words ring true to my heart and true to us all that if we walk in our purpose and believe in ourselves, even when no one else does, anything is possible.”
Here's what I just wrote real quick:
Each model was asked to choose a photo to emulate and also explain why he or she chose said photo. The caption is written in conjunction with the amazingly talented, @wavyalabaster who took what each model wrote, added a piece of history given the photo and of course, her own flair. We hope you enjoy this #PGHBHM series.
