425 - my meet PR, jumped the up call
445 - most weight I’ve ever had on my back, but not even close to parallel
I did not have the confidence or aggressiveness I did the last time I suited. No excuses. Just not good enough. Will suit again in a couple weeks.

Since going vegan I’ve found that I have more strength in the gym and have been able to put on some good muscle mass and stay leaner, even with a high carb/calorie diet. Digestion is a lot better and I no longer have a bloated feeling that comes with consuming dairy and meat products.

It really wasn't that long ago that I started weightlifting from scratch.
Besides some years of gymnastics in my youth- I didnt do sports growing up and rarely went to the gym. I'd have spurts where I'd go running or go to the gym and attempt to do some machines but that was about it.
It was just in the fall of 2015 that I joined the Goldsfit program @goldsgym in Westlake where I worked the front desk. I only went to 2-3 classes a week and then tried out to be a coach and finished last by a large margin (I had probably only taken about 12 goldsfit classes by then to be fair). But it was still a humbling experience.
Once I had a specific goal, I was determined to improve and become good enough to be a coach.
Once I made it part of my routine, felt myself getting stronger, and started learning more skills, it became a new obsession of mine.
But it wasn't easy and it didn't happen overnight.
And then last summer I decided I would try to do a bodybuilding competition. I dedicated 18 weeks and all of my efforts to prep for that show, and to my surprise I won first place and my Pro card.
Now I'm 4 days out from my second show to compete for a chance to be sent to the Arnold's in Brazil... The point is -change doesn't happen in a day. It took a bit to get to where I am now- but it was definitely worth it. You have to take things step by step. Focus on one thing at a time and have a SPECIFIC goal. DECIDE exactly what it is that you want and you can be unstoppable. But until you get specific and make that decision and then COMMIT to it... you're just going to be treading water.

Back home with my baby dog. I love him so much...but he can be a brat. I think somebody missed me....🐶😥 Its the last sunny day for a while.🌞 I tried to workout outside on my deck, but this boy just wanted playtime and to jump all over me during cardio.
So I went back down to my basement gym and finished it up. Thanks Cooper, it was way cooler down there anyways. Haha.💁♀️💕 So good to be back home and with all my stuff, dog and bed.

So this week is the first week for my new schedule (aka: my new job!) .
So I’m trying to get used to the hours & just the change in general that comes with starting a new job... BUT.
My goodness am I tired. 😴
I tend to ALWAYS over load myself then i take a “step back” but take too far of a step back so getting back in the swing of things is always so tough.
Right now— I’m just trying to make it through the day & (hopefully) squeeze my workout in when I get home 🤞🏼 .
I feel like a lot of my posts have been more updates about what’s going on then anything & I’m sorry!
I promise- once I’m settled I GOTCHU!😘 as for today 😴😴😴 I can’t believe it’s only Tuesday 😫 .
Today’s is always an awesome today. It’s a fresh day. The world is spinning around a giant gas ball of fire - we live in an amazingly jaw dropping place that’s both mysterious and beautiful. Today - A new beginning, a new opportunity, a new start, a new vision, a new way, new learnings. Use today to build and create whatever the hell you wanna! Good things are found in today. I went for a run with a friend today.
We found a comfortable rhythm together while she danced between the trees in the kind of comfortable amiable silence that comes with the lifetime of companionship that we share.
She trailed along with me for good while mirroring my actions and surveying my every move. At least until we rounded a corner where the hill we hate stood looming in the distance. That's when she disappeared into a puddle by my feet. Wuss

When your life is on the go, being prepared makes it a lot easier! Running between classes and workouts and yoga today, so a quick pit stop at home was all I had to throw together a quick smoothie with vanilla plant based protein, a banana, almond milk, and a handful of frozen berries 😋🍓🍌
