Today, I was supposed to take a bus to #ratanakiricambodia but finally, I decided to take it easy and stay overnight in #phnompenhcambodia
It feels good to be back to where I have already been, kinda felt like coming back 'home'. Same bed, same dinner place, same brownie 😂
I'm finishing off my day with a book in my hand and let my body and mind relax.
Good night 🌼
Following another successful Spay/Neuter day, Heng took some of the cats back to Wat Langka to be released.
They have fully recovered from the desexing operation, been dewormed, vaccinated and microchipped and all their data (including photos and geolocation) has been stored on our PassPet App. The App alerts us when it is time to administer the next vaccination or worm treatment and provides geolocation so it’s possible
to find the animals again.
Desexing and vaccinating is just the start of the Pagoda Project. With only 5 cats left to desex now, we have to monitor Wat Langka to make sure any new arrivals are treated and the population kept under control.
We work with the local residents and monks who call us when they have concerns and Heng visits to scan, record, monitor, and keep and eye on the health of the animals.

Have you ever been to #royalpalace and #silverpagoda in #phnompenh ? What are your feelings about your visit?
Honestly, I think it's so beautiful there and I did enjoy but... As a full-time traveller, I think that place is a bit overpriced. Why? Well, you have to pay $10 for entrance fee. That's cool, I'm okay with that, but you pay basically to have a walk around the area. Most of the buildings are closed for public so you just stand outside and look through the windows. You can't take any pictures through the windows. There's maybe 2-3 places where you can offer money or see traditional clothing etc.
Another thing, no information in English at all. Even if there were few displays, everything was in cambodian. So at this point you regret, you didn't hire a private guide for additional $10 who is waiting at the entrance.
At the end, I spent there 2 hours and it was enjoyable visit. After travelling 4 months in Southeast Asia I just expected a bit more for that price. At least, an explanation in English.
I would like to know what you think about that place. Let me know in comments 😊
Kings and queens of Cambodia really live in this palace for more than 150 years. But it seems like this day nobody was home, otherwise, they won’t be able to have so many guests. Although, working hours of the palace are really short, and it is closed on some days. Probably it is made not to bother the king with all the tourists. So my advice is to carefully check the opening and plan your trip to this site.
Royal Palace in Phnom Penh looks luxurious! Golden roofs, lots of carved details. It is forbidden to enter the main building, where the royal throne is located, but you can look at it through the opened windows. It is also forbidden to take photos of it, which is a great pity. I really loved the sight of a guard sleeping behind a golden column. So cozy!
