Watch Shane make his favorite classic whisky cocktail: The Penicillin
2 ounces blended Scotch whisky
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce honey syrup
2 bar spoons ginger purée
1/4 ounce Islay single malt Scotch
Add all ingredients, except Islay Scotch, into a mixing glass. Fill with ice and stir. Strain into a rocks glass with a large cube. Pour the pour the Islay Scotch over the back of a bar spoon so that it floats atop the drink. Garnished with candied ginger. #worldsbestbars#talesofthecocktail

Their small bar offers a few gins, a couple whiskeys and other barrel infused spirits. The drinks aren't as flashy, rather they're often simple vehicles to highlight each spirit. When we went, it is was a cozy, quiet experience; a great place to relax and unwind.

Throwback Friday to last Saturday in Philadelphia having delicious drinks at #thefranklinbar While I was expecting an unmarked speakeasy and was greeted by a great big sign for the place instead, that did not stop me from loving it. Drinks were very well balanced and I could have stayed there all night trying them all if not for dinner reservations to get to.
