Through all of life’s ups and downs you have to continue to work hard and smile. Life isn’t fair but that should never change your character or passion to succeed in life. I am not at my best mentally right now and that is ok because nobody can stay 100%, 100% of the time. But I do know that God doesn’t make mistakes. Everything happens for a reason. I will not let the tragedies in life stop me. In the process of turning tragedy into triumph!
Sunrise casting practice session - I see a lot of things I need to work on! Timing, casting angle, slipping line, and a bit of single hauling are just to name a few. The video doesn’t lie, unfortunately. Gulp. PS. No biking or skateboarding around the ponds. #practicewithpurpose#flyfishing#flytying#GGACC#persistence

I am conscious at asking myself this question “Is what I am about to do going to create more love for myself OR is it going to weaken and diminish me?” Staying away from the behaviors, people, places, things and events that are draining is just as important to having an amazing life as cultivating vibrant behaviours, relationships and experiences. ❤
Heavy thrusters and bar muscle ups- neither are necessarily a strength, but I can do them! When I started I only dreamed I would ever be able to do skills like this. Who knew all it took was a bit of commitment + a bit of hard work. Literally showing up every day and doing my best. —
On another note
It’s OPEN day!! 🤗 best part is that we’re all in the same boat. No one knows what it’s going to be but we’re ALL doing the same workout. Some of us are going to go fast and some are going to scale but we’re all going to experience that crazy level of discomfort together 💁🏼♀️ #justdontquit
Almost made it... 💪🏼 Slowly but surely
Our mind over power everything else, so put your mind in whatever you want to conquer, put them into actions and work towards your ultimate goal. It can be anything, for this case, monkey bar for me 🤣
Oh well, there are other dreams of mine to fulfill and I’m going to put actions in them too!
It’s TIME! My purpose in life, you are calling for me and I can hear you clearly now.
💯MY BEST TIP FOR THINKING MORE POSITIVELY?💯
Start a Gratitude Journal📝
I know I don’t share this too often, but it’s important. It’s important because it’s not talked about enough, and if you suffer alongside me, it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
I suffer from depression and (sometimes) debilitating anxiety. My brain doesn't make enough serotonin (your feel-good hormone) and therefore I’m on antidepressants and will prob have to be for the rest of my life.
I’ve been taking them regularly since I was 27. I’ll be 46 next month.
In the beginning of my recovery, I found it REALLLLY hard to be a positive person. I spent many days and nights locked in my bedroom, just not being able to feel joy.
So I know how dark it can get, thankfully I don’t have that deep a depression anymore. But when I did, I wanted, oh-so-badly to be happy. I just didn’t know how.
That’s when I started reading personal development aka “self help” books. I really loved absorbing the stories the authors told, and the advice they gave on how to be more positive.
But I wasn’t DOING anything with this info, so my positive thoughts were still quite negative. Then I saw an episode of Oprah (man I miss her show! Should we petition her to do another one????) where a gal wrote 5 things positive about her day, every day at bedtime, to help ease her from a very negative person (like me!) to a more positive one.
Well, I didn’t think I could come up with 5 things each and every day, so I started with 3.
And you know, it worked. Of course there were some days where I couldn’t think of one little thing I was happy about. Those days my gratitude journals were filled with the same three things: 1. My bed 2. My house 3. Being alive.
See, even though I was unhappy, I still was grateful for being alive (thanks to said antidepressants).
So that’s what I recommend you do too. If you can swing 5 things every day to be grateful for, start there. But on the really bad days...aim for at least 3.
Go out, grab yourself a nice shiny new journal today. And make your list. Don’t overthink it, just the first 5 things that come to mind. Welcome to your new, more positive life ✌🏼💗

🔹It is healthy to have an appetite for criticism.
🔸When you seek criticism - you are seeking self-growth.
▪️You look to make anything that can be made better - better. #driven#complacency
🔸When you seek criticism - you are humble.
▪️You believe you can always learn something and therefore you just do - continuously. #persistence
🔹It is also healthy to know between constructive criticism and unjustified criticism. #criticism#hate#hater
Nial rant: (swipe👈)
🔹Someone said I look weaker straight-on from the front than I do straight-on from the back.
🔸RED CIRCLE ⭕️:I noticed this is because my lower chest disappears when my arms are raised and side of my last are not thick from front view.
▪️From the back-view you can’t tell the thickness but the width makes that pose stronger.
▪️the non-circled pec is worse - my left arm. The weakness is apparent but let’s get excited to make the change! #attitude
🔹What am I going to do?
🔸I’m going to add in dumbbell and cable pullovers, decline bench, dips, and some cable flies (downwards).☝️Everything I wasn’t doing.
▪️I’m going to do a 2:1 ratio with these exercises above compared to my usual exercises until I see results and the proportions mold. #grind
