Just a little #tuesdaytip - if your mum was a model in the 70s and a paper asks if you want to recreate a pose together from the back catalogue....Don't say yes! 🤣 About 15 years ago I did and I tried to contort myself into this incredibly awkward unnatural pose that my beautiful mum recreated effortlessly in an instant! Grateful for the memories of course but my awkwardness in this pic still makes me squirm and laugh so much 🤣🙈 #tbt#lol#istillcantworkouthowtomakethisshape
At this stage it is often recommended you do solids first, that’s great. I generally say if your little one is taking solids really well and it is slowly becoming their primary but milk first is working well, then it’s upto you if you want to change it. The main reason for the change is to make sure your little one is taking solids well so if they are it’s more of a personal choice. If you do give solids first I would ensure milk feeds are still kept well away from any upcoming naps. In this example I will do solids first but you can do it either way, just swap one for the other. For my clients if milk first is working well I would stay at that x
Awake time - Between 5:45 - 7:30.
Breakfast followed my a milk feed approximately 45 minutes later.
Sleep around 3.5 hours later. Some little ones may even make it to 4 hours awake but 3.5 is perfectly fine for this age also.
Nap 1. should be a decent nap OVER 1h 15.
Wake from nap one then again you can offer solids and milk or vice verca. You may even want to add a snack after their milk if they didn’t have a large amount of solids first up.
Nap 2. Should be around 3.5-4.5 hours later. This nap is generally still a long nap at this age (more than 1 hour) however if your little one is starting to do a lengthy first nap (closer to 2 hours) and this nap is heading towards a catnap that is ok.
On waking from the last nap of the day I would offer a small snack, then around 1.5 hours before bedtime I would give dinner. Then 45 min before bed is due a milk feed. Some may offer milk on waking from last nap then dinner then milk again in the bedtime routine, this is also totally ok. 3-4 milk feeds per day is generally a standard amount at this age.
Awake time prior to bed 3.5 - 4 hours max. Bedtime should be 7:30 latest.
Bottle or Breastfeed (40- 45 min before bed) I do this to seperate the feed to sleep association.
Book or song

So I’ve been getting these pregnancy migraines which I thought I’d got rid of after Christmas but got one with a vengeance today! So totally whacked me out & zapped my ability to do anything useful or constructive. So frustrating as I was on such a roll with work & blogging & felt good when I woke up! No rhyme or reason just blimmin’ annoying!
I’ve managed to do a bit of work this eve but going to take it easy, try & sleep to feel good for a day of meetings & productivity tomorrow.
This is the reality of freelancing! If you’re out of sorts, you lose a day & there’s no one to pick up the slack, no sick pay & with limited childcare, no days to catch up! Ahhh!
Have you had to deal with something like this before?
• thanks to @georgieglass_ for the photo!

I've absolutely loved visiting family up north & in Essex this month but Cornwall is definitely where my heart is. Leaving for a while has showed me that we 100% made the right decision moving here! Cornwall is unlike anywhere else I've ever known in good ways and bad ways but I am just loving this slow pace of life and time to adventure for however long it may last! ❤
Colour sorting 🌈🌈. I found this fantastic tray in a "0 & X's" set at Kmart and decided with a little paint it would make the perfect colour sorting tray. Today's invitation was with our amazing new pom poms and tweezers from @thecreativetoyshop. The boys loved matching the colours and sorting all the different sized pom poms. What Kmart teacher hacks have you tried??? #kmarthacks#diy#handsonlearning#kmartteacherhacks#earlylearning101#notesfromahomeeducator

We've gone up yet another shoe size and Oscar is now a 7. He only went into a 6 just before Christmas 😩 bought him these cute little dinosaur plimsolls from Tesco for £5 instead of opting for a proper fitting, as I know it's going to end up costing us an absolute fortune. He ruins shoes so easily it just not worth it 😭 I'm so excited for him to see them as he's obsessed with dinosaurs though. 💓 Where do you buy your childs shoes from? Do you always get them fitted?
I’ve had a realisation today that this is my last half term with this little one. After Easter he will be starting preschool two days a week. I still think of him as my tiny baby - probably helped by him limited speech up until a couple of months ago. He’s such a pleasure to be around - when he’s not lying on the floor in protest 🤣 I’m already feeling lost. I want to soak up every second of him being this small still ❤️ He’s practically an adult now though - he told me to put the heating on earlier 🤣💛🌈
Struggle with getting your kids to drink enough water - this could be the solution! Although my two happily drink water I really wanted to up their intake just a little and dare I say get them to drink some naturally flavoured waters to bring a bit of variety.
On my own mission to drink 2 litres of water a day I decided to get this little number - just over £20 on @amazon and it holds 8 litres of water (or cocktails shhhhh!) with ice holder and fruit defuser 💪🏻
They’ve helped themselves to 2 glasses of lemon water each so far and the best thing is that no one is saying “muuuuum can I have a drink please” - they want to play!! #winning
✨A Fairy Nice brand ambassador is a very special sort of person indeed✨
Because, just like our Fairies behind the Fairy Door, they have a strong belief in the #magicofchildhood at their core.
In their children they actively encourage creativity and a sense of delight and wonder at the world around them. And, whilst they never shy away from the ways of modern life, they do believe that there is a lot to be said for good, old-fashioned #imaginativeplay 🧚♀️ If this strikes a magical chord, then you could be just the person we are looking for. We’d love you to come and join our team as a treasured Fairy friend and help us bring magical adventures with beautiful Fairy Doors to homes all around the world✨

We usually drive up to visit Chris’ family but last week, because we thought it’d be a bit more of an adventure for the kids, combined with the fact that sitting in a car for 4.5 hours is not always the most pleasant of experiences (mainly for Chris and I😉), we decided to fast track it from Euston and get the train up to Blackpool.
On our return journey, we managed to get seated at a table, all together.
As we made ourselves comfortable I noticed a lady with her little boy who were sat opposite us. I guessed that the boy was probably a little older than Oz, at maybe 6 or 7 years old. He was sat with his head down, engrossed in something on his Mums Phone. She smiled at us as we got ourselves settled and watched as the carnage unfolded (as it so usually does whenever we go anywhere), with various coats being discarded, snacks flying out of bags and demands of iPads, which were quickly distributed.
As we were just about to depart, I heard this lady say to her son that he was to give her phone back now. He groaned, obviously gutted that he was having to give it up but reluctantly gave it to her.
Setting off, the kids fully absorbed in Ben and Holly, Blaze and Mr T, I sat back and started to read. In-between adjusting volumes, switching programmes and dishing out drinks, I could hear the little boy asking his mum for her phone. I’m certain having my three sat there on their gadgets, wasn’t helping things. It was obvious she was adamant that she didn’t want him having it. I’m certain too, that the following comment was more for my benefit than his, but in a very loud voice, loud enough for me to hear anyway, she said “No you can’t have my phone. Come on, if we can’t amuse ourselves on a 2 hour journey, then that’s pretty sad isn’t it”
Ouch! 😳😬 And while I’m sure she felt strongly about this, it didn’t seem like she was just saying that to silence her child’s plea. I felt she was saying, that it was sad that MY kids couldn’t amuse themselves for a couple of hours, without the need of an iPad... or 3.
CON’D IN THE COMMENTS
A lot of people argue that kids today spend way too much time on their screens. I’m sure there are a lot of kids who are that way, but there are also a lot of kids who don’t get to have fun and live. With Chestli, we really had to find balance. There are a lot of things that we teach him, but we also understand he needs his freedom and youth so we block out time for him to do whatever he wants. Sometimes it’s games, sometimes it’s toys, it really is whatever he wants!
One of the most important lessons I learned was to schedule time for sanity. Today, I make sure I have guilt free leisure time to do whatever I want. Usually whatever I want is whatever my family feels like doing. In my latest blog, I briefly talk about some of the most important lessons I’ve learned on my journey for growth. Just follow the link in my bio!
It’s a BOY!
A little shock to me and Betty but we are over the moon to be expecting a little boy and we can’t wait for him to join us on our adventures! I love him so much already 💚
Head over the @kicks.count blog for more beautiful photos by Betty’s super talented godfather.
Thank you @adamcp89 and @christineprotheroe_ for your help today 😘 Oh and prepare for spam cos obviously I can’t not have the photos on my feed now can I 😉
@socialmums #socialmumsfeb day 20 is gratitude. On holiday my Belle and I got up early and went to the bakery each day to get bread. The sunbed man let us off paying because it was early and we ate the bread and played in the sea each day Then went back to get everyone up. On the last few days we got free bread and the sunbed man sat with us. Very very simple pleasure warm sun, nice bread #grateful
My buddy. ❤
I don't want to jinx it (there's still 2.5hrs to go until bedtime) but today has been lovely. Sunshine is always THE best thing for boosting my mood and there's been plenty of that. 🌞 I just hope it sticks around for a while! We also got back into our routine with pre-school for J and Hartbeeps for E.🎶 I feel a bit lost during half-term breaks and I'm always quite glad when they're over!
Picked this little babe up from school & popped into @tescofood for after school snacks. We got to the till & Harper found these pots of daffodils on the side for £1, so she had to have one & now she wants to water it every 5 minutes & is getting annoyed the flowers haven’t come out yet (after 10 minutes of owning it) - four year olds are joy 💓
