“The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; And the realist adjusts the sails." - William Arthur Ward.
Working with dogs means being the realist. What do you do to adapt to better fit your dog’s needs on walks? .
Few of you would know but I have a passion for rehab work because my old dog was reactive. We spent years working on this. From the point of not being able to walk around any other dogs to being able to safely greet off lead and play in group- even bring Clara into our lives. This also caused me to help others and professionally rehab dogs. I have been blessed that Clara does not have similar issues (she’s been attacked/charged over 10 times since she started working as a service dog). So on #nationalwalkyourdogday I would like to make a shout out to those that are working hard to get their dogs better at being able to go out in the world. So many take it for granted. So many don’t realize how taxing and overwhelming it is for all involved to do something as simple as walk around the block. Every day is a test of your insurance and patience and we wanted you to know you aren’t alone. Even if we don’t always talk about it we have been there and are always here to talk. :)
