“They say normally only 10 percent of the human brain is ever used. I believe this is often true of our hearts and spirits as well. I believe that we are here on this planet to make the most of what we’ve got and who we are, and contribute to the world so it’s a little better when we leave it. I’m not saying that putting on makeup will change the world or even your life, but it can be the first step in discovering things about yourself you may have never have discovered otherwise”. Quote by Kevin Aucoin. I really love makeup and fashion and I study it incessantly. I ruin my clothes with sweat so wearing pretty clothes is painful. I get sweaty and wet and they stick to me and change color and than I start to smell and I’m fucking miserable. This body is high maintenance. Buh. So I wear comfy cotton leggings and a T-shirt and change clothes a million times a day and deal with it. I just look at all the shoes and clothes and it’s different for me, you know? Being girlie involves doing things that don’t involve sweating profusely but I can do still do my hair and makeup. Kevin Aucoin is one of my hero’s. He taught me to do my makeup with his books. My twin(fraternal) brother brought me some of his books to study and my mom took me to the goodwill bins and I got a sweet ass pile of books, for less than ten dollars. I’m a happy kitten. My mom and my twin brother take good care of me and my son. Look at these books! They’re so beautiful everyone! This is what’s keeping me busy tonight after my son goes to bed! Have a good night everyone. Study hard. I mean it. There’s a big quiz coming up, and it’s going to be a tough one. Good luck kids, and may the God’s be ever in your favor😈 #art#pdx#books#reading#bookclub#artparty#bookparty#coding#extrovert#schizoaffective#dissociativedisorder#arttherapy#roleplaying#warhammer40k#mythology#chemistry#engineering#darkart#computerscience#marketing#learningshit#selfeducation#hash#tag#thefeeds#participating#feedmeseymour#breadcrumbs#cookies #👻

Every Wednesday I get to use the gorgeous studio space and printing press at the Anvil Centre. I am practicing monoprinting by painting in response to words I've found on packaging, litter, and notes. I do whatever the words inspire me to do at the moment. #garbageart#monoprint#participating

By David Southwood (@crockette1), with essays by Ivan Vladislavić, Ivor Powell and Michael Godby.
For the last #decade David Southwood has been #observing , #participating in and #photographing the #Milnerton flea #market . In that time, he has seen subtle #changes in one of the many ‘grey zones’ of Cape Town, where a growing number of #peripheral#characters —mainly #poor whites and recent #migrants into South Africa—seek to earn a living through #trade in second-hand goods. Milnerton Market has emerged from Southwood’s intense #engagement as a powerful record of a single community on the fringes of a society in flux.
On one hand, 'Milnerton Market' simply bears #witness to the hodgepodge life of things. But on the other, it explores the implications of the redistribution of resources by a new #democratic#government in the early 1990s, a process that did very little to alleviate the destitution of many. The geographic and symbolic ‘in-betweenness’ of the site of the market—it is not #sea , not #city , not industrial, not prime property—and of the #vendors themselves, perched on rickety deck chairs, suggests an #uncomfortable unity of #political rhetoric and acceptable #public#memory .
