Who do you owe your outdoor addiction to? When @albakerphoto moved to Las Vegas, it was @rediculousnicholasvegas13 and @harmonycalhoun who got him hooked on climbing, whom he describes as "True, genuine people, as most of the outdoor community is from what I learned since moving here a year ago. A representation of who I want to be." Tag the friends who help you find yourself outdoors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Let's talk about the "pick yourself up by the boot straps" idea that suggests women are responsible for their own liberation and that all women are the same, so advice should be "one size fits all," right?
No, in reality, this is not the case. We need to understand that not every woman will face the same struggles, experience the same exercise of power or have the same barriers to overcome throughout her lifetime. Not every single woman is a white, upper middle class, able bodied, straight individual wondering how to be seen as an equal by her white, upper middle class, straight, able bodied male peers. .
If you're in a position of influence or power and your advice to all women is to "change yourself" to overcome or account for years of poor experiences, please reconsider. Please do not suggest we are all the same, going the same places, coming from the same backgrounds or exercising the same power in our given communities.
