Cubfield, this program is for youth ages 8-10. Kids will have a memorable time learning the fundamentals of outdoor skills while making new friends and experiencing the beauty of nature. During the week campers will hike to the “amazon”, a local mini waterfall and have an overnight sleep-over at one of our other satellite sites out of main camp. Other activities youth will get the chance to partake in include; boating, archery, swimming, low ropes and many more fun activities. For scouting youth this means achieving a number of skills in Camping, Trail, Aquatics and Paddling Outdoor Adventure Skills.
Cubfield counselor Aislinn says, “I love the atmosphere, and exploring new things with all of the creative personalities of each group of campers that come every week. It may be a bit scary to be away from home at first, but usually by the evening of the first day, campers begin to love the cub field and the activities that come with it.”
We are exhausted, happy and full. We weren’t able to see everyone this year and that’s ok. And those we saw, we sometimes didn’t stay long. We didn’t stress, we didn’t fight, we didn’t buy too many useless “things”, Mia was definitely spoiled but not overboard (the life of an only child!). This was the least stressful Christmas I’ve ever had, and the most enjoyable. Instead of rushing off to another event / dinner, we played board games and I went for a long wintery walk with my pup.
We were late- but we were happy and relaxed. You see, last year (and the other 6 years before that!) I had a different job. One that was stressful, busy, full on, hard and took every bit of my brain power and that was hard to turn off when i was at home. Toxic work place, underpaid and under appreciated work with constant demands on my time and attention. It’s unbelievable how draining and unhealthy a negative “career” can be...I can fully enjoy my home life now- which is the MOST important thing in the world. I’m so fulfilled with my job at the Catholic School Board and my work as a new family photographer. (I really didn’t think those words would ever leave my lips!) Annnnnd I should be sleeping as my plane leaves for a white sandy beach and a cold drink in T-4 hours... but I can’t sleep. I’m so excited for the year to come. I’m so grateful for all my clients this year. I’m so grateful that one of you; let alone, LOTS of you allowed me into your lives so intimately to Capture your raw emotions and your families. Ok enough of this rant! I’ve got an hour to sleep and then a plane to catch! 🍹 🌊 🏝 Eternally Grateful. 🌲❤️ #christmasnightrant#sorry 📷: SDphotography :)
Laugh. Laugh all the time. Spend time with people who make you laugh. Watch funny movies, laugh at yourself and other people, laugh till you cheeks hurt and your eyes are watering and you think you may have gotten 1/6 ‘packs’ in your invisible 6 pack.
