Actually, it’s not. You don’t need a sign. I don’t need a sign. We just need to go forth and do the thing(s) we want to do.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. The need for permission or feeling “qualified” enough. So often we want to do things but get caught up in trying to figure out all the details first, wondering what people will think, questioning our own capabilities and comparing ourselves to others. Who am I do to X? It’s a mind fuck.
The reality is permission isn’t coming. We’re not going to get tapped on the shoulder to pursue our goals/ideas/projects. And for as much as we like to think that people are watching our every move, they’re not. They’re too busy watching/doing their own stuff. (As it should be.)
I’ve worked a lot to lessen this kind of thinking/self-talk over the last few years. It’s not completely gone, but it happens less and less the more action I take around the things I feel called to work on. Recently, I launched the WomanStuff podcast, and I know for many it was out of left field because it has nothing to do with planty stuff. I get it. But it doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk about planty stuff anymore, it just means I’m expanding the conversation here. And the cool thing is you can choose whether or not you want to stick around for it. Some have unfollowed and that’s A-okay. I’m not for everyone.
[SIDE NOTE: speaking of expanding the convo, I’m starting a whole other conversation soon on another account (also a biz venture), about women/cannabis. Whaaa!! Complete with a second podcast! Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more on that soon. Super excited!]
Ok, so the point is, we need to be doing what we want to do & lights us up, having the conversations we want to have, and taking the GIANT leaps we’re afraid to take. No one is going to tell us it’s ok, it’s time, we’re ready, etc. We gotta just fucking do it. And and as my good friend @jillfit reminds me all the time, “Take more action, put blinders on and be obsessed with your own shit!”🔥🙌🏼
So, that’s what I’m doing over here.👩🏼🎤🌱 You?

Every sports brand that photoshops their images.... That use one body type in their advertising on 99% of occasions.... That won't make clothes for the diversity of 21st century female bodies.... That segregate stores by size.... Or adds sub brands like plus size.... Aren't adding to the problem. They ARE the problem.
You don't have to buy our clothes. But please don't support those that are compounding the problems caused to women by creating this illusion of unrealistic body stereotypes.
