☆ Omu ☆
[Loki in Singapore] 🇸🇬
Each Omurice comes with with tomato fried rice with sautéed chicken and mushroom or butter fried rice (depending on what sauce you order) wrapped within.
Each plate cost around 10 bucks and the egg was creamy, runny and fluffy. The pork cutlet ruined the dish though, with its taste revealing to be the opposite of tender and juicy.
Omu-rice is coined from the French word "omelette" and the English word "rice." Omu-rice is made with eggs beaten in a frying pan,
and rice seasoned with ketchup, butter and other ingredients wrapped inside the egg.
Omu Rice (Japan)
Otherwise known as omelette rice. The origin of omurice is very unclear but some believed that it started from a popular western restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo called ‘Rengatei’ during the Meiji period (1900). Omurice was cooked for the restaurant staff with left over ingredients after the restaurant was closed.
