After a heavy week of training, 18 reps in & fatigue hit baaaad. Although a little piece of my soul was getting destroyed rep by rep, still had time for a good laugh, mostly at my expense 😆 I conclude that if you can curse 🤭 and giggle at the top of a 95% clean then hopefully after a rest day, things can only get better! 😅

#latergram of my gym sesh yesterday // Went into the gym with zero plan. Just new I needed to move, sweat, and lift stuff. I opened with a 2 miles on the treadmill, did some dynamic warmups, practiced double unders for half an hour, and then did whatever the heck I felt like with a barbell. As my shoulder mobility is getting better I’m noting a huge gap in my upper body strength, particularly overhead and feeling wary under the barbell split jerking for some reason. Definitely something I want to turn into a strength over the summer. My recovery from the split is getting better but I still need to work on that back foot placement. Hit my snatch opener on my third attempt 😂 and missed my second jerk because of my noodle arms. Managed to squeeze out a clean and jerk PR on my third lift, and qualify for the American open series!
Here we come Vegas!
Legs are very untrained. Clean felt super slow and weak. Hit 275 once, first video is the miss after I went for it again. That miss was 110% mental. I didn’t show it but my set up was hesitant and nervous. Mentality is huge in OLY lifting.
Decided to dial back and do clean doubles at 245 just to get timing down for 3 sets. Then hit squat triples. 3 sets at 275 ( one of the videos) 1 set at 315 then one more at 275. Then hit clean pulls at 275 for triples. 4 sets at 275 and one set at 315.
My back feels beat up so might take tomorrow off. Overall mentally challenging training day which makes you want it more.

This is the first time I've cleaned and jerked 225 since the wrist injury. It felt good. My timing is still a bit off but I'm still working on it. Developing a plan and sticking to it is the way to make progress in any worthwhile endeavor.
