Since my soon-to-be wife has requested that do not become a lawyer or politician, I told her that I would become a Pastor and start a church🙋🏽♂️
This is part of my first sermon. I wrote it last night and sampled it on Zeke & Sienna (my pups). It got mixed reviews.
To become a follower of Christ, you must have had a starting point - an introduction to Him. It might have been your parents. It might have been a teacher at school, a friend, a coach, a movie, or even something that you heard on the radio.
What we all universally learn in our journey to walk with Christ are stories of His works. We learn about Him giving a shepherd boy the boldness and strength to defeat a mighty giant. We learn about him parting the Red Sea to allow Moses and the Israelites safe passage to escape the death warrant of Pharaoh. We learn about sending His son to heal the sick, give sight to the blind, and turn water into wine. We learn about Him giving the life of His son in the most painful and horrific way so that we could have a personal relationship with Him and so that our sins could be washed away. We learn that He created all things, that He can literally move mountains, and that His power is never-ending.
We learn all of these things, of His great power, mercy, love, and works, yet we allow one thing to enter our lives that place a stronghold on all that He is capable of doing.
We place limitations on God.
Why would we do this? Why would we place limitations on an all-powerful God that created each and every one of us? Why would we doubt that He can do ANYTHING?
Doubting God and placing limitations on God is a go-to method of the enemy with the intention of defeating you. If we allow this to happen then we are playing right into his evil hand of destruction for our lives.
We have to stand up to this. We have to fight back. We have to realize these truths. We have to remind ourselves that God has NO limitations. We have to remind ourselves that we should NEVER doubt what God can do in our lives.
We have to remember that this thing called life is a one-on-one matchup - God and us versus the enemy.
Beloved, don’t let the enemy win! @h_fulton15 @stevenfurtick #nolimits#god
