Good morning! This is Katie and I'm excited to be hosting the Coastal Jersey Adventures weekend takeover!
I love living near the NJ coast! I have lived in Ocean County my entire life. I grew up and still reside in Toms River. During the summer, I spend a lot of time at our family beach house in Silver Beach, N.J.
My hobby and passion is nature and wildlife photography. There are so many wonderful opportunities to find nature and wildlife along the coast of New Jersey. I can observe beautiful wildlife such as foxes, snowy owls, dolphins, seals, osprey and a huge variety of other shore birds. I can watch the sun rise at the ocean and set on the bay. Or I can see the milky way rising over the Atlantic Ocean on a cold, clear winter night.
This was a summer sunrise taken at one of my favorite places- Silver Beach, NJ.
Follow along this weekend as I show you Coastal New Jersey through my eyes (and lens) ;-)
This is @njkatiedid12 with your #coastaljerseytakeover
A journey of self-discovery is never pointless, However dim your path may seem, and however far you may wander from it...the important thing is that you learn from all of your mistakes along the way and never forget for one moment who you are, or what you are struggling to be.
Emerging from the (unintentional) longest amount of time I’ve ever gone without posting to say that I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship lately and how there isn’t enough art or enough songs about it. But I’ve decided that two of the best I can think of are “Calling Cards” by Neko Case, specifically this part: ‘We’ll all be together, even when we’re not together, with our arms around each other, with our faith still in each other,’ and at the end of Broken Necks by Ó when she says, ‘Nothing in this world is holier than friendship.’ Both of those examples use religious terminology and that’s probably not a coincidence. I’m also thinking about funfetti waffles and the first Strollo’s of the season and agreeing about when and where cheese should and shouldn’t be melted and old photos and sporadic text messages and how sometimes the whole world feels a little off-kilter but these things can put it right.
