...After the first night spent at the local homestay, we continued down the Nile in the morning. .
We stopped mid afternoon to take dips in the water.
Jumping off the side. Floating. Swimming.
Met with friendly locals on other boats.
Family dinner was served on the top deck by candlelight. .
After dark, we moored up to a quiet area.
Drum circles, silly games, and lots of dancing around the fire pit.
It feels like we are in Africa, I said.
Oh yeah, we are...😂 🤦🏻♀️
Once again, spent a cozy, but freezing nights sleep as a fam on the boat.
And we were sent off with a finger licking good 6am sun rise treat over the glassy Nile with a dewy breakfast. .
Legend has it if you swallow the Nile water, you'll be back.... . .
Guess I'll be back...
#fbf Happy birthday to me! Remembering last year when I turned 40 and celebrated in Egypt w/my favorite traveling companion, my mom. Started with a long layover in Paris so we could visit the Eiffel Tower and then on to Cairo. Pic with the pyramids in the background is the view from our room at The Mena House Hotel!(Travelers Tip: Choose long layovers in fun places to see something extra for free. Been to Paris twice this way!) Egypt is an amazing country, with a fascinating culture and genuinely warm people! I loved it and cannot wait to go back. Our 10 day tour went all the way from Alexandria down to Abu Simbel. No better way to usher in a new era. A lifelong dream come true! Also thought I'd show everyone I have more interests than @maxwell. Though a birthday wish from him would make my whole life. Lol. In addition to my love of Maxwell, I also love photography and traveling. I'm vowing to be less introverted and actually post from time to time, but don't hold your breath. Heehee. 🎉🎈🎂 #bucketlistitemchecked#eiffeltower#menahousehotel#nile#abusimbel#egypt#hotairballoonride Pics taken with #canonT6i#samsung (cell phone & camera) #nofilter
