To be honest, as these speedwork days are getting longer, I am getting more and more nervous about the workouts! Today was 4x1200 with 400m recovery. Tracks were covered in snow still so I went to a nice stretch of flat land on the coast which was INCREDIBLY windy. After my warmup I thought maybe I’ll just do this workout tomorrow on the treadmill, and give up on today. .
Then my fire was lit inside me and I said no way! I’m killing this workout today! Who knows how windy race day will be! So I did it and nailed all of my paces (5:05 or less). #success#speed
Was going to post a pic of my watch but I had a good makeup day, even after tears, sweat, and the cold. 💁🏻♀️ it’s the little things lately 😂
8 mile speed workout, which felt easy and hard at the same time. My legs wouldn’t go, but my heart rate was unreasonably low for a speed day so it didn’t FEEL exhausting. Like max 174 made it to zone 4 for a whopping 46 seconds.
But my VO2 max said 50, and I could use a day of non fatigue so I’ll just view it as my improving. Still hit all my paces for the intervals (see story for deets!) if not faster than what I was supposed to do. Zeroing in on nutrition, and trying to stay sane in this circle of no answer.
For those of you that asked, my appointment today was useless. We looked at my MRI, and now I have an appointment to talk to a surgeon about options. Still no plan. Still no timeline. Still no action. So I’m going to start working with our trainer on PT moves and keep up this cardio thing. Keep you all posted 💕
