Omg i cant Believe it's been a year already!❤ I remember the moment i posted this and exactly how i was feeling❤❤ My bestie! My big sis got the call March 6th 2017. Got her new Kidney March 7th 2017❤❤❤ One of the most scary and amazing moments❤
I haven't been to sleep!! My emotions are all over the place! We got the call we've been waiting for!! My sister the call that they had a Kidney for her last night!! She just came out of Transplant surgery. It was successful!!!♡♡♡ So thankful! She was suprise I was here, smh! I wouldn't miss this for the world! (When I had my second son, she checked herself out of the hospital from a congested heart failure episode, got rolled over to labor and delivery to help me deliver then went back to her side!) Definitely glad I was able to be here.
So this is the best birthday gift ever. I did not want to acknowledge or celebrate my birthday until this guy's new kidney was working. I am so grateful for the birthday wishes. I truly am. This is one was really special.
On a related note, I donated a part of my liver a few years ago, but you don't have to donate an organ to save a life (but you should if you can). You can donate blood, platelets, marrow. You can donate time and money to hospitals or advocacy organizations. You can work towards a better medical system. You can tell jokes and be kind. The most important thing is to never lose hope. Hope is powerful.
I've been stalling to post this because it seemed too good to be true.
These pictures were from about a month ago when my dad was released from the hospital with his new kidney. They have every transplant recipient ring this bell three times to thank those who helped them, their donor, and future donors. My mom was released the day before.
It has now been over a month and both of my parents are doing incredibly well. Thank you everyone for your love and support during this crazy time!
Thankyou so much Dad for your kidney!❤️ Without your help I would still be having to eat boring old food and having to go on my dialysis machine every night, running out of energy every second and not being able to be as free as I was before all this kidney stuff started! I love you so much Dad ❤️❤️💖 #kidneytransplant#newkidney#livedonor
Well it’s done here I lay in my hospital bed with a smile on my face and an extra kidney...... I am told I look really well and to be honest I feel amazing, very sore and not looking forward to them removing the catheter 😳😳 but it’s done..... Now to recover and get back to my old self
Thanks to you all for the support and well wishes I have had over the last few days and the last 9months 👍👍💪💪

Kidney is working guys ! Thank you Jesus ! It started working right away !! I'm doing ok . So far everything has been going smooth. Continued prayers please , much appreciated!! Thank you so much to everyone!! From the bottom of my heart ! For all your love and support!! I had so many people praying , Thank you, means a whole lot !! I love you all !! Prayer works !!! So I got the call when I was at work Wednesday morning . Adam called my work line to tell me UCLA said I needed to call and that it was urgent !! I knew right away. I was going through a lot of emotions ! Sure enough when I called they had a kidney for me they believed was a good match ! So I had to leave work go home and get everything ready ! Adam and I left for UCLA .My parents , brother and nephew met us over there . Adam went to ask for directions and it just so happened to be my surgeon . So we got to meet him , and talk to him before surgery. That was nice .
So we checked in , got prepped for surgery, oh let me tell you , I was soo nervous ! Adam was by my side , trying to calm me down and make me laugh . I'm sure you guys seen the video talking in his Arnold voice ! He's been by my side the whole time. Thank you , babe ! I love and appreciate you!! So it was time for surgery ! I believe it was around 4pm . It was 3 1/2 hours in surgery . When the doc went back to tell my family the news , he said it was a piece of cake and it was a beautiful kidney ! He also said I was healthy and it was a success!! Great news !
When I woke up , I was already in the recovery room . I wasn't feeling too bad . Had some pain , but of course it helped with the pain meds. I had a little button I could press every 15 min for pain . Yes , I used it !! I have a catheter in , so we could see kidney already working , making that urine . The nurse himself said he never seen a deceased kidney donor work as good as mine with giving out so much urine . He said it usually takes a day or two for kidney to kick in , and patients usually need dialysis right after. I was suppose to receive dialysis , but they cancelled it because everything looked good ! Thank you , Jesus !! #kidneytransplant#nomoredialysis#newkidney
Repost @akidneyformelody 💕Melody was scheduled to receive a kidney from her cousin Dec 26th, however even though she was only placed on the deceased donor list just 3 days ago, SHE GOT THE CALL! This kidney is a better match than her cousin’s would be so she’s getting a NEW KIDNEY right now! Please send positive thoughts to this family at @stanfordchildrens ✨ You got this kidney warrior Melody! 💗 😘🎄Merry Christmas!
