Do you have hidden calories in your ‘healthy’ snacks and drinks? 🤔

There can be a big difference between eating for health and eating for body comp, and it’s easy to get caught in the trap that a ‘healthy, raw, vegan etc’ snack means it’s calorie free and not going to have an impact on your fat loss goals. 🤭

Take for example this (very delicious) coffee from one of my favourite organic cafe in Manly @oramanly. It’s their take on a bullet proof coffee and contains espresso, butter, coconut oil, cream, maple, gelatine and salt (hence why it’s so delicious 😍). Luckily for me I’m trying to increase my weight so additions like this job my diet once or twice a week aren’t going to have too much of an impact... but for someone trying to hit a fat loss goal a seemingly innocent drink can turn into a quick way to undo any progress made. 😭

For example a bullet proof coffee from @thr1ve contains 240 calories and a whooping 30g of fat!! The same goes for healthy shakes or smoothies and raw bliss balls and bars ... a regular Kick Start Smoothie from Thrive (almond milk, banana, whey protein, nut butter and honey) contains 564 calories, 37g fat and 33g carbs!! 🙀

The moral of the story; don’t get caught up in the fitspo photos of shredded women eating and drinking to good to be true smoothie bowls and snacks. The chances are it is and if you want to hit your fat loss goals it’s best to steer clear of these treats (because that’s what they are) and stick with single ingredient whole foods. ✨

For me... I’ll be continuing to add small treats like this into my diet until I get my cycle back (2 months in and still no sign 😫) for anyone on the other end of the scale looking to increase muscle and calories but struggling to get the food in these are awesome ways to do it without having to eat your way through a small mountain of rice 😂👌🏻

Working out with this little guy is tough. I think I got a solid 20 minutes. I promised myself I would workout 2-3 days a weeks. I would love to get 7 days a week like I did pre Ezra but that’s impossible now. I broke up the 20 minute workout in to two because he literally cried the whole time. I got to get him use to it. 🤷🏻♀️

2. I am thankful for my body
3. I am thankful for my Mom
4. I am thankful for peanut butter
5. I am thankful for mountains
You Can say the same things every day or you can expand your gratitude and really start noticing all the amazing gifts in life!
