In the year 2015, around this time, me & my friends were sleeping on my place just as every normal morning. I just got a thought about going here, 'Kalinchowk' lying in the central Himalayas of Nepal. 🏔️🏔️
So, I woke up my friends & we headed towards this place on 2 scooters without any concrete plans.
I don't know what gave me the idea that we could go all the way to such height of 3842m ! 3 fuckin' thousands eight hundred forty two metres on a scooter through stone paved roads! 😁 Its almost half the height of the world's tallest mountain Mt. Everest. 🏔️ But anyways, we made it till around 3000 m and the scooter broke down and there's the whole different story, will tell about it someday. But when we made it to this top, 3842m. I felt like we are flying 'cause its so on top that I could literally see snow-caped mountains below from where I'm standing, so I am giving this "Flying" pose over here.🕊️ It was a normal travel experience when we returned back. But sometimes we understimate what we have. I'm slowly realising that I used to live in the world's most exotic place after I left. 😁 it is one of the most wonderful experience I've ever had.
Aspirations in Accordance with the Dharma by Dodrupchen Jigme Tenpe Nyima 🙏🌈 When I am happy, it is you whom I honour and revere,
When I suffer, it is you whom I call upon for help,
You are my source of hope for this life, and protection for the next—
And my kind root teacher.
Although you assume these different names and forms,
In the expanse of your wisdom and in your deeds, you are no different,
So without considering you as separate, but fused together as one—
I pray to you: hold me with your compassion!
At all times and in all situations, inspire me with your blessings!
Now that I have found this human existence, with its freedoms and advantages,
Let me accomplish the most essential teachings!
Life, like a winter’s day, lasts but a short while,
So let me devote it to what is meaningful: the Dharma.
If I should face death all of a sudden,
Let the teachings come swiftly to my aid!
When setting out upon the long journey to the next life,
Let my provisions of Dharma be plentiful!
By planting the seed of Dharma in this life,
May I reap an abundant harvest in the next!
Wherever I am born, wheresoever is my destination,
Let my propensity for the Dharma be awakened!
Happiness or suffering, good or bad—no matter what occurs,
May I always place my trust in the Dharma!
Since it is the infallible entry to the Dharma,
Let the roots of my faith be strong!
Since it is the definite foundation of the Dharma,
Let my training in nonviolence be secure!
Since it is the vital axis of the Dharma,
May I follow the way that accords with how things truly are!
Since it is the pure quintessence of the Dharma,
Let me master bodhicitta in both its aspects!
Since the six-syllable mantra is the sovereign of practices,
May I recite it and meditate unwaveringly!
May I accomplish the Dharma authentically and without obstacle,
And find favourable conditions in abundance, just as I desire!
Taking the teachers and the deities as my witness,
May these, my prayers of aspiration towards the Dharma,
Take seed in fertile ground, and without ever failing,
May they be accomplished, and never go to waste!
Here’s to a weekend full of adventure you all ❤️. I’ve been working triple time this last month to get our local team of seamstresses stocked up on product to sew while we go meet with our certified Fair Trade team in Nepal (who make our consistent line of booties). I still personally serge and go over all the one of a kind upcycled wool booties before they are assembled so it’s been intense! They are such a tricky product to make and they require such an eye for detail that it’s hard to hand off production. Whoever said being an entrepreneur was easy was not being truthful 😴! But, this business has brought us on such amazing adventures and we have met so many incredible people so I’m thankful for that.
Has anyone been to Nepal with their kids? Any suggestions? 🏕🐑🏔
What is it to be independent? Well I discovered a whole new meaning of the word. We visited and stayed with the Independent Living Society in Pokhara along with representatives from Hope Disability. They have suffered missing limbs, spinal cord injuries, burns, and cerebral palsy. Together they support each other in being able to cook, clean, work, get around dirt roads - all without support.
What blew me away more than the massive physical obstacles, was their total acceptance of their situation. Beyond acceptance and into the clear blue skies of joy. Yes. They are happy people. They don’t fight it, they don’t resist it, they don’t resent it. Ganga who is a double amputee says she doesn’t feel disabled. .
This is Anjana. She speaks 3 languages fluently. She is the boss. She is hilarious. She is a hard ass. She has been independently living for 10 year. She has much to teach the world about what it is to wholeheartedly live independently. .

World Peace, Nepal style 🇳🇵🌏 After a grueling hike up a dusty mountainside trail seeing busses pass me on a different road in the distance (ty Google Maps), I eventually arrived at the World Peace Pagoda. Sapped of strength and almost out of water I collapsed on that steps for 15 minutes before mustering the energy to take photos!
One of the major reasons I am what I am today is exercise and martial arts. You see I was a weak kid, bullied all the time. I cried most of the time alone because I was scared n helpless. One day I said to myself this is it, I will not get scared anymore so I started training, imitating what I saw in movies. I had only one goal in mind, to be stronger, to be better. And with passing of time my body started to change so did my mindset. And I gained confidence. I wasn't scared anymore. So at that time I realized martial arts were never meant for violence, it was to better yourself and to win yourself.
So I use martial arts and training as a discipline to control myself. Start exercising and see the difference it gets you in life.
