Dad knows the colors of my heart!!! My heart longs to be home. I’m not a city girl. I may live in the city and do city stuff but I always do it in Diné fashion. I’m reserved. I am unique. A little classy but also a bit rezzy! My dreams led me here. Someday I will be home. But until that day comes I’ll be here wishing to be in this painting. Surrounded by beautiful land and skies. Jamming to KTNN.
This is exactly how I felt on my wedding day too!!! But no one was there to capture it for me. All sad. But luckily you have me to do it for you!!! YAY!!! I love fun bridal portraits like this one from Koda’s wedding! Sweetest ladies you’ll ever meet. Let’s get this party started!!!

Please welcome our first featured Photographer, Hannah Manuelito @itshannahduhhhhh. As I am a queer Diné woman, it was important for me to select another strong Diné asdzáán. Thank you again Hannah for sharing your work with all of us.
„Yá'át'ééh, my name is Hannah Manuelito. I am originally from Ganado, AZ, currently based in Chandler, AZ. My clans are Tsi'naajinii nishłį. Tł'ízí Łání éí báshíshchíín. Tódích'íi'nii éí dashicheii. 'Áshįįhí éí dashinálí. I am a photographer who focuses on fine art portraiture work with the influence of my Indigenous culture. A lot of my work is an exploration of my identity as a Navajo and how I accept my unique identity having grown up off the reservation for most of my life, yet still holding onto as much traditions as I can. When I was in high school I would go to a lot of local hardcore shows. I noticed that a few of the photographers would get into the shows for free and I wanted to try and do that haha. After a couple of shows I didn't like having to run around, instead I just wanted to be able to enjoy the music. Regardless, I still stuck with photography and this carried on through my college education. I majored in Fine Art Photography and this is where I found my style. I confronted my identity as a Navajo who didn't grow up on the reservation, but still partook in the traditions. Some Native people think they have the 'say-all' and have the right to determine if others are true Natives or not. When I was about 13 years old I was basically told that I wasn't a 'True Native' - so that is when my series 'City Girl' started brewing. I later then took photos of my fellow Indigenous friends who have their own definition of Native Identity. Right now, I work for a Native owned clothing brand called OxDx. I am their in-house photographer, make-up artist, and I help create visual content for the brand. On the side, I still create my fine art work. I am preparing for a show that I will be having in Gallup, NM this October. My future will consist of more exploration of Navajo beliefs, like the Creation Story, Asdzáán (Women) Power, and many other facets of the Navajo culture.“
Inspiration | Anna + Jeremy are up on the blog! These two were absolutely adorable in every way!!! Anna’s dress was my favorite. Yes to more bell sleeves! .

Day two of being congested. 😷🤧I have sick leave for one job but don’t in the other job. So, I got to power through some stuff by noon. I might postpone our drawing for another day. OR I’ll see if @o_hubbz can be my guest host for the evening. He’ll want to be in a tux and request a skinny 70’s microphone. 🕺🏻lol Stay tune. There’s still time to sign up for my newsletter.
